She walks the corridors with some unknown grace
One could not tell by the looks on her face
Her hair hangs loose and does not curl
She parts it in the middle, she's quite a girl
There she stands and does not even know
What my thoughts are and how fast they come and go

Every day, I keep thinking
About you and I
How good we are together
When we're alone together
Can you tell why
Can you tell me why you keep your distance like this?
Can you tell me why you keep your distance like this?
I wanna feel your touch
I wanna feel you
I wanna feel your touch
I wanna feel you
Will you ever?
Will you ever?
Let me in

I was sitting on the steps of our house when I saw a Wildebeest approaching directly towards me...I waited till it got closer then stood up, as it saw me it took off and galloped directly past me...
Haweswater is a reservoir built in the valley of Mardale. The controversial construction of the Haweswater dam was started in 1929, after Parliament passed an Act giving Manchester Corporation permission to build the reservoir to supply water for the urban conurbations of north-west England.
At the time there was much public outcry about the decision as the valley of Mardale was populated by the farming villages of Measand and Mardale Green, and the construction of the reservoir would mean that these villages would be flooded and lost, and the population would have to be moved. In addition the valley was considered one of the most picturesque in Westmorland, and many people thought it should be left alone.
All the farms and houses of the villages of Mardale and Measand, and the Dun Bull Inn were pulled down. Coffins were removed from the graveyard, and buried elsewhere, and Mardale church was demolished. At times of drought, when the water level is low, many people go back to see what is left of the village of Mardale.

Captured during a foggy morning with this abandoned old pier taking on a ghostly appearance . Their are one or two seagulls further into the image on the pier.
Long exposure using a firecrest ND4.8 or 16 stop ND filter.
And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake?
Cursing my name, wishing I stayed
@Hazardous
...And I can go anywhere I want
Anywhere I want, just not home
And you can aim for my heart, go for blood
But you would still miss me in your bones
And I still talk to you (when I'm screaming at the sky)
And when you can't sleep at night (you hear my stolen lullabies)

Posting a little early for a Happy Sliders Sunday! ;o)
My plan was to take a week off Flickr, have a rest and spend my time messing about with watercolour painting. I've got so many photos that I want to paint - I imagined that the Lock-down would give me oceans of time! It hasn't quite gone to plan but I did manage to make a small start ;o)
I used an infrared shot of trees at Fyvie, and combined it with a watercolour of the same trees to make (hopefully) something new.
The infrared shot was taken with my Nikon D90 converted to shoot only in IR 720nm. Link to the original in the first comment field.

Northern cardinal in its forest environment turned the corner and this guy was in the branches off the trail was good to see him not at a feeder but in his natural environment I left it a bit dark because the woods where dark like to keep the same feeling I seen His red really stands out in its ghostly background
The ruins of the Rat Portage Lumber Company Mill.
While driving on a back road near Harrison Mills, I noticed what looked like the top of a building peeking out of the forest on the other side of a dyke. I had to look around and investigate these ruins. The cement building was built by the Rat Portage Lumber Company to house the mill boiler. The mill was built in 1903 at the confluence of the Harrison and Fraser Rivers and closed in 1911. It was kind of a ghostly place and while looking around the abandoned building I felt a spectral presence. Over time the old buildings disappeared but the Kilby General Store remained with a few other buildings, and they became the Kilby Historic Site and Museum.
Black-crowned Night Heron
Circle B Bar Reserve
From Cornell:
Black-crowned Night-Herons are stocky birds compared to many of their long-limbed heron relatives. They’re most active at night or at dusk, when you may see their ghostly forms flapping out from daytime roosts to forage in wetlands. In the light of day adults are striking in gray-and-black plumage and long white head plumes. These social birds breed in colonies of stick nests usually built over water. They live in fresh, salt, and brackish wetlands and are the most widespread heron in the world.
From your photographer:
I barely saw this heron, walking in the sludge in Circle B Bar in heavy underbrush and overhang from the trees above. The darkness encircling the heron is that overhanging mass - I only had one small window of clearing through which to photograph this often illusive bird. The sun was low in the sky approaching sunset, which is why the one side of the heron is lit up - and no i was not going to come in from the other side - it's filled with gators!
