The Tropico Gold Mine opened in the 1890s as the Lida Mine. It thrived until the late 1950s, by which time the cost of extracting gold nearly equaled the fixed market price of $35 per ounce.
Its owners turned it into a tourist ghost town but shut it down in the mid-1980s, The cost of insurance became to expensive to maintain the business.
I saw these "ghosts" in a store window display on Melrose in L.A. and I was so taken with them that I never even bothered to look at what kind of store it was! This is a straight photo (pretty much) but I suspect you'll see these ghosts reincarnated in some future photo-manipulation project.

This is in a ghost town in Rhyolite which is outside the boundary of Death Valley. There are a few buildings left which you can not go into. I captured this through a window. The light shining through the window gives it a ghostly appearance.
The Ghost Orchid is an endangered species. It grows in Cuba, Florida and Bahamas. It is endangered because of poaching, climate change, pollinator and habitat loss. The sole pollinator of the Ghost Orchid is the giant sphinx moth.

Another long exposure shot taken on the old Rolleiflex. The exposure here was for something like 35 or 40 seconds so the person standing on the right hand side somehow managed to stay relatively still for that entire time. (Thank you whoever you are!)
Note I had to crop this into a rectangular shape from the normal square format because I managed to get a piece of wall that the camera was sitting on across the bottom of the frame.

Ocypode brevicornis is a species of ghost crabs native to the Indian Ocean, They are relatively large ghost crabs with a somewhat trapezoidal body. Like other ghost crabs, one of their claws is much larger than the other. Their eyestalks are large and elongated, tipped with prolongations at the tip known as styles. They are common inhabitants of open sandy beaches, living in burrows in the intertidal zone.
Daughters Ghost mantis passed (natural causes) so decided to do a stack.

Skimming though my photos for posting to Flickr, I spotted this one with what seems to be a ghost ship floating on the bay. I did NO photoshop work on this, only cropped it slightly. This is exactly what I took when I thought I was just taking a photo of the sunset.

Ghost Tree - We drove the 17 mile drive near Monterey. A must do if you visit the area. Although the weather was not as good as we would have wished, I got quite a few good shots. One is this picture from the so called "Ghost Tree". The fog in the background fits quite good here...

Albert Szukalski created the Ghost Rider in 1984. He draped plaster coated burlap over human models and after it dried sprayed polyurethane to help preserve it. The statue is displayed at the Goldwell Open Air Museum near the Ghost Town of Rhyolite, Nevada.

Taken around 20 minutes before the Tangmere shot I've already posted, this was taken at F7.1 so the branches which were in he shot are still partially visible
No aurora Saturday night but the waning full moon was bright, Here the same view of Ghost river as February 23rd under a bright moon no northern lights.
