Originally the peanuts were intended for the Blue Jays. As it seems, there are many critters that enjoy them. This baby raccoon, mom and two siblings were having quite the feast. I always enjoy getting out into nature, you just never know what you may find.
.....need to get out of town....go right ahead but keep your heart exactly where it is.....

Thankful for all the support this year.....🌹
I remember you and me
Back when we were 17
Drinking, kissing in the street
We couldn't get enough
I see you layin' there with me
Like my missing puzzle piece
Dreaming of what we could be
We couldn't make you up
We had the songs that we sang along to
You had the moves to make me dance with you
I always saw you reaching and catching stars
We had the thing that everyone wanted
Hung on your sleeve, you wore your heart on it
Did you get out I'm wondering where you are?

It’s true A Country Road can offer us up plenty to keep us smiling and grateful. Peace is offered along with animal sights and sounds. Be sure to get out this Summer with folks of similar values and interests. Thanks for viewing my work. Gratitude and kindness are worth sharing at every level.

I found these while out and about with my boys at our local green way. Luckily there wasn't anyone around because we really needed to get out of the house. My eldest isnt taking the social distancing very well. It's been very hard for his mental health not being able to see his cousins and friends. We are starting a phase re opening here in Tennessee as long as our numbers arent spiking then we gradually go through all the phases. I can't wait.
I stumbled upon this image when going through my archive - I remember that day: We did a lovely hike in Black Forest and close to a bench with a fantastic view we saw this common broom with lots of lady birds
And maybe I crowded them a bit too much .... this specimen seems to be grumbling at me ; ))
Wishing you a Happy Weekend ... without much grumbling : )) !

Long abandoned homestead in the ghost town of Cottonwood,SD. population 9. Cottonwood "boomed" in the late 1800's and early 1900's when the railroad came to town and nearby Route 14 was a major east-west road through the western part of the state. But industrialization, the farm crisis, the loss of the railroad, coupled with the opening of interstate 90,put the town in a downward spiral it could never get out of. This old place didn't even get to the days of indoor plumbing....

In the cage
Get me out of the cage
In the glare of a light
I see a strange kind of sight
Of cages joined to form a star
Each person can't go very far
All tied to their things
They're netted by their strings
Free to flutter in memories of their wasted wings
....
Close to taking me for a star 😋

Hi all !!!
I hope you're fine today ;) !
This time I change my look again for a little photo more trash than usual. What do you think about it ? I didn't play with the lights to see what it would do to change.
Thank you for your support !

The Mrs. who is now 3 weeks post op on right-arm shoulder-surgery, strongly suggested that I get out of the house and do some photography; mainly to reduce her stress about me hovering over her.
So, I snuck out to a local open area and practiced catching birds in flight. Didn’t find an Eagle but found one that made my heart happy ;-)

Fishermen and photographers both have better luck if they get out early. Because of this, some photographers are known to go back to bed when the good light is gone. Some even fall asleep outside in one of those canvas folding chairs later in the afternoon. Some very severe examples may exhibit both behaviors. Wishing you a good week ahead and the opportunity to nap in one of those canvas folding chairs (maybe even outside, it's supposed to be a little warmer this week).
♪ Enchant - At death´s door - live Groß-Umstadt 1997 ♪
I run my desperate trembling hands
Along the floor were you once walked
Fighting tears that come from loss
I brave the rooms where we once talked
You took a part of me I never can reclaim
Your spirit's in my heart
But you know it's not the same
Straining to beat this blur of tears
Swollen eyes beg for my dead friend
Reminiscing with a photograph
Drives home (that) what was won't be again
I will to guarantee my reason will prevail
Pain breeds the need for make believe
To soothe a heart that's fail
Like a wind-up clock left in the rain
Like a candle burns away its light
We all suffer at death's door
As surely as day turns into night
I drop down to my knees and plead with the sky
Of course it does no good
But i'll give anything a try
Gazing, thinking, standing on a cliff
That guards the blue-green of the sea
I accept the blueprint of the world, that
All must pass away that's come to be
You meant so much to me
That's why there's all this pain
So much improved from our exchange
It will never be same
Like a wind-up clock left in the rain
Like a candle burns away its light
We all suffer at death's door
As surely as day turns into night
Like a wind-up clock left in the rain
Like a candle burns away its light
We all suffer at death's door
We all suffer loss...
As surely day changes into night
Aren't you somethin' to admire, cause your shine is somethin' like a mirror
And I can't help but notice, you reflect in this heart of mine
If you ever feel alone and the glare makes me hard to find
Just know that I'm always parallel on the other side
Finally found a group of these horned larks enjoying seeds along a farm in Hamilton. Was lucky to have one land in front of me while I was getting out of my car. Gives me an opportunity to take a break from spring edits!
Another one from the Azores, this time from the island of Terceira. Not a perfect foreground, but I couldn't get out of this garden quickly.
Taken during an wonderful hike with my wife and our dogs. Short after Christmas. You need to get out, when the conditions for crepuscular rays are that perfect :) After that we had all a lot of fun with "Kegeln", a german version of Bowling.

Another one from that lively Sunday two weeks ago where it looks like the cloud is about to knock the Norman church for six! Actually it wasn't stormy, just really interesting cloud formations.
I've been a bit quiet on Flickr and probably will be for a little while yet. From tomorrow I'll be away at a specialised Lyme clinic for a month to have some medical treatment. I must stress it's not critical treatment (like chemo or anything) but just necessary if I'm to get on with my life!
Back home for weekends if I'm good!!
And if I'm up to it, the clinic is very near to one of the best bluebell woods in England, my treatment coinciding with the time they are at their best.
This feels like a good omen. Have a great Sunday x
