The Battle of Tumhalad took place in the year 495 of the First Age. Leading up to the battle, a human man named Túrin Turambar persuaded King Orodreth of Nargothrond to build a great bridge, connecting his secretive elven city to the rest of Western Beleriand. Orodreth then used this bridge, marching thousands of elves to meet the forces of Morgoth in open battle. These elves were accustomed to raiding and ambushing smaller bands of orcs and were, unknowingly, marching to their deaths. Tragically, the elves were surrounded, forced into the nearby plain of Tumhalad, and slaughtered by countless hordes of orcs.

During the battle, Orodreth was slain and Gwindor was fatally wounded. Túrin escaped the field with Gwindor only to watch him die soon after. Following the defeat of the elves, Nargothrond itself was besieged and taken by Glaurung, a dragon loyal to Morgoth. This battle was a part of the larger War of the Jewels which lasted around 500 years.

Detail pictures on Instagram (@natelego_) I hope you like this build. I’ve been working on it since this past March and am very pleased with how it came out. As usual, please leave some feedback for where/what I could improve upon. Any and all shares greatly appreciated. I have about 90 elves, helmets by @brickforge and shields by @dan_nicebricks . I also used a new technique with @getcrazybricks crazy arms to hold the shield tighter and across the figure’s chest. Spruce design is by @fullplatebuilds . I want to especially thank @koscheilego and @amazebricks for all their help with this. This will be at BrickFair VA starting today, but the figures will be placed on public days only (most likely). If you can spot the characters mentioned above, comment down below! Also, for obvious reasons (not enough time or money) there is no dragon.

And now something a little different.

I do not know terribly much about the Mouse Guards, one pictured here, I just think they look nice. I have seen Shelly post about them, I also know there was a movie in the works at some point but it ran into problems and I don’t think it’s on anymore.

I saw a Getcrazybricks Kickstarter thing about these a while ago and decided to support enough to get at least one figure just to see how they’re like. It arrived a few days ago and it looked great!

Due to the nature of these figures I went for exceptionally heavy editing with the colours. It’s a mouse with cape, shield and a sword, no need for strict realism here exactly.

This is obviously not an official Lego product but rather something that is compatible with the brick. Nevertheless, I'm treating it as Lego. It just shows how versatile the Danish toy is.
