Telefunken in Germany had been producing semiconductor rectifiers for a number of years before they developed transistors for mass production. Launched in 1953, the OC601 and OC602 were alloy junction germanium pnp transistors. Telefunken also developed S (special) versions which had attached copper heatsinks.
They work but are low gain.

A sneak preview of another restoration project!
The BNC socket on the rear chassis is an "after market" modification, which in turn looks like it might have taken an impact which slightly distorted the rear panel.
Other than that, it seems to be in untouched original condition inside.
We'll see if the germanium transistors are showing evidence of "tin whiskers" when I eventually power it up.
This may be "old school", but it looks to be well engineered, and to my eyes the wiring is a thing of beauty to behold!
[update: - it works fine!]
I'm looking forward to fettling this unit.
It's a bit dusty in there, but it looks pretty unmolested (apart from the BNC socket modification).
"Proper" lacing on the cable loom, and a strategic P-clip on the mains cable - nice!
