Notre-Dame de Paris is a masterpiece of Gothic art.
The building of Notre-Dame extended over 150 years, during which all the various phases of Gothic architecture were reflected in its structure (from the great cathedrals of Chartres, Reims, and Amiens).
The interior exemplifies the grandeur of Gothic architecture with its space. It is 420 foot long, 157 foot wide and 226
foot high.
The ceiling is supported by ridged vaults, with multiple arches that come together at various points across the length of the building, covering more than 130 metres altogether.
Taken for the Macro Monday Theme "Opposites". Even if a real matematician might not agree...a circle and a line are opposites for me. HMM everyone!
