After months of letting this GPS fob lie dormant in a drawer, today was a chance to give the Gisteq Photo Trackr a trial.
Last time I tried in January, the software never recognized the device, but with a new driver and the latest version of the software I ought to be able to use it.
The Trackr records GPS location and time contunously, and by matching to the date/time in the camera, it should be able to provide geo location data.
However the free version of the software only works with JPEG images, and I shoot RAW with my DLSR, so I am testing with my pocket camera.
The process is loading photos onto the computer, then runing it through the Trackr sotfware which is supposed to modify the JPEG files with latitiude and longitude. So then its a two step process to do this and then load into Aperture or iPhoto.
Not sure if I got data today on my short mailbox walk- the Trackr battery was dead my thr time I returned.
