“Omodos is located about 42 kilometres north-west of the city of Limassol, in the geographical region of the wine-making villages. It is built near the west bank of the Cha-potami river at an average altitude of 810 meters. The village is surrounded by tall mountaintops, the tallest of which are "Afames" (1153 m.) and "Kremmos of Laona" (Laona's Steep, 1092 m.).

The village receives an annual average rainfall of about 760 millimetres; vines and various fruit-trees (apple, plum, pear, peach, and apricot trees) are cultivated in the region. There also are uncultivated areas that are taken over by varied natural vegetation. A small part of the village -in its north part -is taken up by the state forest of Pafos.”

Upper Antelope Canyon, about 200m in length, is a slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon includes two separate, scenic slot canyon sections, referred to individually as "Upper Antelope Canyon" or "The Crack" Antelope Canyon "or" The Corkscrew ". The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tsé bighánílíní, which means 'the place where water runs through rocks'. Lower Antelope Canyon is Hazdistazí (called "Hasdestwazi" by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department), or 'spiral rock arches'. Both are in the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation.

Antelope Canyon's winding walls were carved by fast flowing flash flood waters. The floods carried abrasive sand, rocks logs and other debris picked up by the sudden torrents. Over millenia, these floods sculpted natural corridors through the soft sandstone. (sourced from internet)

A rework of of an old shot to mark 3 years since returning from New Zealand. This was one of the photos I had hoped to take before leaving but didn't expect to get the opportunity.

he raw looked really quite different as there was quite a haze as well as having to deal with the dirty plastic windows of the aeroplane.

The plane wasflying close to the Eastern coastline of the south island. The view extends beyond the Western coastline to the Tasman sea

I snapped this shot through a dirty, window of an old Southwest 737 aircraft heading to Lindberg Field Airport in San Diego, USA. Mountain ranges located between Phoenix, Arizona and the California border.

A tornadic supercell takes on many shapes, sizes, and colors as it passes over an abandoned farm house East of Tulia, Texas.

Driving along a backroad in Alaska - a Mama Moose strode purposefully across the pavement in front of us. A recently born calf was behind her, but stopped suddenly at the edge of the hard surface, as if seeing it for the first time in his short life. We stopped and waited until the little fella decided to cross. By then there was several steps between him and his mom. Once the mother got safely inside of the tree line, she stopped and waited for her baby to join her. A happy ending for all.
