20170106_114452_P1220528.JPG Newly frozen sea and the church of Suomenlinna behind the frost covered trees.
This image was created from multiple exposures blended together in Photoshop CS6 layers using the "Lighten" blend mode. All exposures were taken with a single Paul C. Buff Einstein strobe with a 22" beauty dish attached to a Elinchrom boom arm. If you send me a FlickrMail message, I'll be more than happy to send you some information on mostly how I photograph this style and what equipment I use, along with some YouTube video links that help explain this process.

Even though this fascinating geological formation is named for it's color, orange, I liked the way the textures and definition stood out in b/w.
Some pics of Mammoth Hot Spring's Orange Spring Mound in comments.
Thanks for taking a look!

There is just so much going on in this picture. Geographically interesting, but, I gotta wonder what it looked like before the burn. Plus, I wanted to drive my Jeep up the hill following the tracks to the top.
Somewhere along Highway 198 near King City, California, headed for Soledad.
I got my first publication with this pic in the german GEO magazine. Tiny bit proud indeed :) Cheers you guys.
