The pilot and his weapons systems operator/ bombardier sat side-by-side under two upward hinged hatches. The F-111A didn't have ejection seats for its crew. Instead, the whole cockpit area could be blown off, serving as an escape capsule.
F-111C Reg. A8-145 Dump & Burn at the 2004 Brisbane Riverfire Spectacular, the aircraft was travelling at about 500-600kph and dumped her fuel out the back igniting it with the afterburners before pulling skyward and lighting up the city. It was so loud as it came in low almost directly overhead and what a spectacular display!!

The weapons bay doors on one side can open. The other side is covered by a door that shows the outline of the M61 gun.
