I think it's very possible that these are the coolest shoes on the planet.

Perfect for me, non?

P.S. Someone needs to get over here STAT and clean my floor!

Picture Puzzle Piece by Shel Silverstein

One picture puzzle piece

Lyin' on the sidewalk,

One picture puzzle piece

Soakin' in the rain.

It might be a button of blue

On the coat of the woman

Who lived in a shoe.

It might be a magical bean,

Or a fold in the red

Velvet robe of a queen.

It might be the one little bite

Of the apple her stepmother

Gave to Snow White.

It might be the veil of a bride

Or a bottle with some evil genie inside.

It might be a small tuft of hair

On the big bouncy belly

Of Bobo the Bear.

It might be a bit of the cloak

Of the Witch of the West

As she melted to smoke.

It might be a shadowy trace

Of a tear that runs down an angel's face.

Nothing has more possibilities

Than one old wet picture puzzle piece.

Year two of this journey to become who I am has it's challenges, mainly in the genetics department and having to shake off some loose ends in regards to family and such.

So I decided (when it wasn't stinking hot and a heatwave) to do a mini shoot showing off some progress so far.

It's not perfect by any means, but I'm working on it.

Finally got around to setting up the DVD shelf I bought. I don't have enough to fill this one, and I have another one besides, so I spread out the movies and put some of my geek trappings up there.

Downtown Pensacola...

Useful things for geek people

Before skateboarding, before hip hop, before punk rock, before geeks and fandom...just a bit past Star Wars and Classic Space, there was Krass & Bernie.

It was a long walk in winter, or a good bike ride in summer, to the center of my hometown back in the day. I would go there to the only magazine shop to pick up G.I. Joe comics. One day, back in 1982, something different caught my eye. It was what became my first issue of CARtoons magazine! It was hard to believe that someone published an entire magazine of drawn automobile humor, but that's what it was. I read that mag so much that the whole thing fell apart, tattered and torn up. From then on I obsessed about finding issues, which was no easy thing. They came out sporadically every two months or so, there was no subscriptions, and the store didn't always receive them. I managed to find about twenty or so before they called it quits in 1992. To this day I still have actual dreams every once in a while about finding an issue in a store!

Within the pages I discovered many artists. My favorites being Shawn Kerri(RIP) (who would reappear later in my life when I discovered punk / Circle Jerks / Black Flag),Tom Harding, and George Trosley (who would later reappear as a joke illustrator in mens magazines!).

George's "How To Draw cars" section played a huge role in my artistic life, but it was the magazines' staple go to duo Krass & Bernie that was always the high light. This low-brow team would always get caught up in hot-rod building adventures that resulted in a multitude of freaky cars. It is from their title header, the first page that I would turn to every issue, that I got the inspiration for this MOC.

I've never read the origin story about this mash up of dragster & Beetle (if there is one), but I can say this: for some reason they are powering this dragster with the VW's motor, but the geometry is very wrong. Just look at the squished hood and the angle of the chain! I had to be a bit more realistic for the MOC, but I think it's still very Trosley. I like this MOC very much, sticker cheat and all.

As a foot note I know someone began a new run of CARtoons a couple of years ago (cartoonsmag.com/) and there are often back issues of the original CARtoons on EBay and some are on download sites. Also, as I was researching this project, I found out that George Trosley has published a couple of books collecting his Krass & Bernie stories. www.georgetrosley.com/

The Geek Owlie loves to read mangas and books, she is really into video games too!

Because Owlie is little is easy to carry her around wherever you go, you can also use her as decoration for the kid's playroom or bedroom.

Owlie is made of mostly of white felt, details in yellow, blue and black felt. Her belly is full of polka dots.

The measurements are 4 inches tall(10cm) and 5 inches wide(13cm) from the widest part.

This item was carefully hand-stitched.

I've always had a fondness for being a girl (and saying screw you to people who think I couldn't do it) and my childhood love of technology and gadgets.

So it sounds about right to bring those two loves together as part of my transgender journey.

This was the first shot at my Geek Scrabble idea - in addition to the normal words, anything justifiable as geeky is allowable, even if it's an acronym, proper noun, etc.

There are a few good geeky terms in there - INT, SKU, RIAA, and my personal favorite, CERN.
