The type of business where your boss hovers around the office, takes the good ideas for himself/herself, and shits on every other idea you have.

Here's one from a while back that I guess I forgot to post here. I have a 3 volume set of some vintage anatomy books and I hope to do more with them. Of course, these kinds of visions are all related to my nightmares.
I was really thrilled to find out yesterday that this image was selected for the "Uncanny: Surreal Photography" exhibition at the Vermont PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont. The juror was someone I truly admire, Russell Joslin, the editor/publisher of SHOTS, which is my favorite photography magazine.
In other news, I have a 15 page spread in the current issue of PH Magazine! It is a free, online publication, so check it out! I am so honored to be included in there with some artists I have followed and admired for years, including Constantine Gedal and Ellen Jantzen.

This is the beautiful Nimet from a shoot late last year, organised by Gedal and shot in the Botanical Gardens. A few more shots on the blog . . . there were so many nice ones of her - it was hard to get a bad shot of someone who looks like this (any incorrect camera settings aside ;-)

Today marks the 18th installation of the >>>>>>>> WOW factor gallery<<<<<<<<<
Please visit it to see images which are outstanding in their originality, they have that something only a true artist can achieve - they arouse imagination ...well I definitely think so - hope you agree:)

This photograph is a close up of the original just a few uploads ago, processed to resemble vintage film (maybe even beyond expired and with a few significant lens leaks:)
Last time we shot with Rita it was (Australian) Spring. Today the weather seemed to be very similar and it's the end of our Summer.. Summer that escaped us this year: lots of rain, devastating floods and chilly winds.
inspired by AVA . Vanesa is an accomplished visual artist of many talents. I implore you to visit her photostream and be inspired.
Needless to say - I can't create hair-raising moments of Vanesa's magnitute.. but I thought I'd try as I do have fascination with harnessing movement.. that will hopefully grow into some skills one day:)
Model: Rita Satch - a very talented Melbourne-based singer and song-writer
Managed to "catch" flare this once during this shoot (Thanks for the encouragement Emma:) ) This is Fujchrome T64, hence the bluish tint - this film was developed for tungstein light (and is no longer produced:(

UNSENSORED11 offers a glimpse into what film in its various formats can produce today. Once again our members are presenting a diverse range of images in both subject matter and tools/techniques. The exhibition includes images produced using traditional processes and techniques through to hybrid works that blur the line between film and digital. We hope to see you all on opening night.

........................................................................
The name of the small shining blue btf was taken from the Greece antique mythology too.
Icarus was a youth, who wanted to fly up closely to Sun, using homemade wings… despite an interdiction of the father Gedal.
These wings have been made of the bird's feathers fastened by wax.
Wax was melting from solar heat… wings collapsed… Icarus has fallen to the ground and died…
A sad story…

the story behind the shot: we were on Daintree Ferry, which provides access into the Cape Tribulation (Daintree River, North Queensland, Australia).. this beutiful amphibian just magically appeared from somewhere on this moulded plastic seat:)

Over the years I started a number of blogs but could never sustain them. I think it's because I treated them as being something introspective and destined to become eventually uninteresting.
What if my blog was not about me but about WHAT's IMPORTANT for me? So here's to the start :)
