Löwenzahn /Dandelion
Übrigens gebe ich gelegentlich private Kurse zum Thema Bildgestaltung. Der Löwenzah in der Mitte ist quasi ein NO GO. Ich hätte ihn zwar nach rechts oder links versetzen können. Ich habe aber den Halm gewählt, denn er gibt zusätzliche Aufmerksamkeit und Dynamik vor dem grünen Hintergrund.
By the way, I occasionally give private courses on the subject of image composition/ best POV etc.. The dandelions in the middle are basically a NO GO. I could have moved it to the right or left. But I chose the stalk because it gives additional attention and dynamism against the green background.

Such a dull day as today is the right moment to bring some colours in the game. Thats why I show You again a picture from my rape-field-period. In this case You see a much wider look and mt. Lilienstein (right side) what used to be so present suddenly became just one of many mountains. For me as a photographer its by the way on of the larger challenges to decide when I do visit which of so many fantastic locations, in such a fascinating landscape. I'm willing to own, I already had much worse problems.
So ein trüber Tag wie heute ist genau der richtige Moment um nochmal etwas Farbe ins Spiel zu bringen. Deshalb hier noch einmal ein Bild aus meiner Raps Feld Periode. In diesem Fall ist es ein etwas weiterer Blick und der Lilienstein (auf der rechten Seite) der auf anderen Fotos so präsent war, wird plötzlich einer von vielen Bergen. Für mich als Fotografen ist übrigens eine der größeren Herausforderung, bei so vielen grandiosen Orten in dieser faszinierenden Landschaft zu entscheiden, wann ich wo hin gehe. Ich gebe zu, ich hatte schon schlimmere Probleme.
After some time of exloring the surroundings of the Ponta da Piedade, I finally have decided for a spot, where I am going to wait for the sunrise. I am willing to admit that I felt a bit uncomfortable so close to the edge. But less because of me and more because of my camera.
Suddenly she is there, the sun and the rocks are showing me their red colour the first time.
From now on its starting to become more busy, because now its all about capturing all the motives I already found on my way back to the lighthouse, before the sun is getting to high and the light is loosing the warmth.
Nachdem ich jetzt eine geraume Weile die Gegend am Ponta da Piedade erforscht habe, habe ich mich schließlich für eine Stelle entschieden, an der ich auf den Sonnenaufgang warten will. Ich gebe zu, so nahe an der Klippe war ich etwas unruhig. Nicht so sehr wegen mir, sondern eher wegen meiner Kamera.
Und auf einmal ist sie da, die Sonne und die rote Färbung der Felsen ist zum ersten mal richtig zu sehen.
Ab jetzt wird es etwas hektisch, denn es gilt auf dem Rückweg zum Leuchtturm die ganzen Motive einzusammeln, die ich bisher gefunden habe und dies bevor die Sonne zu hoch steht und das Licht seine Wärme verliert.

Nach getaner Arbeit wartet das Fischerboot auf den nächsten Tag am Strand der Insel Usedom im Bundesland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Deutschlald.
Das Foto wurde von mir bearbeitet, d.h. den obere Rand habe ich begradigt..

On a frosty and foggy morning, close after sunrise, I saw this lonesome traveler passing me with a firm tread. Can You see him ? What may brought him out of the warmth of his house on such a inclement morning ? How long is he on its way already ? Were is he heading to ? Many questions are arising in my mind and I can answer not a single one. To do that, I had to walk to him, talk to him and listen carefully. Thats how life works. Any answer I give to myself is like gambling and has nothing to do with truth. So I decide not to know. I let him go its way and in my mind I wish him all the best. Maybe You will remember this sometimes, when You want to judge others attitude ore behaviour not knowing anything. It would be better for both sites.
An einem frostigen und nebligen Morgen, kurz nach Sonnenaufgang, sah ich diesen einsamen Wanderer mit festem Schritt an mir vorbei ziehen. Könnt Ihr ihn sehen ? Was hat ihn wohl bewogen an einem so unfreundlichen Tag die Wärme das Hauses zu verlassen ? Wie lange ist er wohl schon unterwegs ? Wo will er hin ? Viele Fragen entstehen spontan in meinem Kopf von denen ich keine einzige beantworten kann. Denn dafür müsste ich auf ihn zugehen mit Ihm sprechen und aufmerksam zuhören. So ist das im Leben. Jede Antwort, die ich mir selbst gebe ist wie Glücksspiel und hat mit der Wahrheit nichts zu tun. Also entscheide ich nichts zu wissen, lasse ich Ihn ziehen und wünsch Ihm in Gedanken alles Gute. Vielleicht erinnert Ihr Euch daran, wenn Ihr versucht seid über die Einstellung oder das Verhalten anderer zu urteilen ohne irgend etwas zu wissen. Es wäre besser, für beide Seiten.
Last autumn I dare to shoot in heavy rain the first time. I admit, that I was a bit tense because of the question, how my technic was going to deal with it. Because even if I did take care of holding away the water as much as I could, everything was quite wet afterwards. Finally my equipment did withstand everything very good and the photos I made that day are speaking for one, or better multiple, repetition.
Im letzten Herbst hab ich mich das erste mal getraut, im ströhmenden Regen fotografieren zu gehen. Ich gebe zu, ich war schon etwas angespannt bei der Frage, ob die Technik das alles so verkraftet. Denn obwohl ich mir Mühe gegeben habe das Wasser weitestgehend fern zu halten, war dann alles trotzdem ganz schön nass. Schlußendlich hat mein Equipement alles gut überstanden und die Bilder, die an dem Tag entstanden sind plädieren eindeutig für eine, oder besser mehrfache, Wiederholung.

To be honest, this is my romantic version of the grand canyon of Verdon. In reality it was much more "traffic" down there. Independently, this is a really impressive place. On a length of about 21 km the river Verdon cut itself up to 700 meters deep into the mountains. This is something, You don't see everyday.
Ich gebe zu, dies ist meine romantische Version der Schlucht von Verdon. In der Realität gab es weit mehr "Verkehr" dort unten. Unabhängig davon ist das ein sehr beeindruckender Ort. Auf 21 km Länge hat sich der Fluß Verdon hier bis zu 700 m tief in den Fels geschnitten. So etwas sieht man nicht alle Tage.
A holiday by the water. Will that be possible again this summer? It is to be wished to the operators. As here, new paths are being taken by German standards. In the Netherlands, it's been common practice for a long time.
Urlaub am Wasser. Ob das in diesem Sommer wieder möglich sein wird? Den Betreibern wäre es zu wünschen. Wie hier, werden für Deutsche Verhältnisse neue Wege bestritten. In den Niederlanden ist es schon lange Gang- und Gebe.
Today I have to interrupt my series of photos from Madeira for a day, because since yesterday I am the excited owner of a new camera. This beautiful amaryllis here is my first photo, the flowers are on our dining table right now and I couldn't resist. Basically it's more of a snapshot, because I admit I didn't put much effort into it. This applies to both the photography and the post-processing, which is only very rudimentary here. Basically I just tried to make the wallpaper disappear in the background. It wasn't much more.
And yet I am amazed by the realism that this photo shows. I can't wait to get out in nature with my camera.
Ich muss heute mal für einen Tag meine Fotoreihe aus Madeira unterbrechen, denn seit gestern bin ich aufgeregter Besitzer einer neuen Kamera. Diese wunderschöne Amaryllis hier ist mein erstes Foto, Die Blumen stehen gerade auf unserem Esstisch und da konnte ich nicht wiederstehen. Im Grunde ist es eher ein Schnappschuß, denn ich habe mir, das gebe ich zu, nicht viel Mühe dabei gegeben. Dies gilt sowohl fürs Fotografieren, als auch für die Nachbearbeitung, die hier nur sehr rudimentär erfolgt ist. Im Grunde hab ich nur versucht die Tapete im Hintergrund verschwinden zu lassen. Viel mehr wars nicht.
Und trotzdem bin ich begeistert von der Realitätsnähe, die dieses Foto zeigt. Ich kann es kaum erwarten mit der Kamera raus in die Natur zu gehen.

Who of you knows the movie series "Alien" ? I've see all the movies a couple of times and I like them. Maybe thats the reason, why I, when I see unfolding ferns, often have to think of the scenes, when the alien is unbending to shorten the life of one of the protagonists drastically. I admit that my tries to only see the grace and the beauty of this process are undermined by my fantasy totally.
Wer von Euch kennt die Filmreihe "Alien" ? Ich hab mir die Filme schon mehrfach angesehen und mir gefallen sie. Möglicherweise ist das der Grund, warum ich beim Anblick von sich entfaltenden Farnen häufig an die Szenen denken muss, als sich das Alien aufrichtet um im Anschluß das Leben eines der Protagonisten drastisch zu verkürzen. Ich gebe zu, beim Versuch nur die Grazie und Schönheit in diesem Vorgang zu sehen steht mir meine Phanstasie da voll etwas im Wege.
Ich gebe zu, dass ich dieses Bild extrem bearbeitet habe. Denk an mein Motto:
"Meine Bilder sollen nicht zeigen wie das Motiv aussieht, sondern wie ich es sehe."

Bislang, ich gebe es zu, fand ich diese Stiegenhaus-Fotografien eher wenig ansprechend. Dieses allerdings in Form einer Glühbirne hat es mir sofort angetan 😊

Bartje Bartels is de hoofdfiguur uit de boeken van Anne de Vries. Het is een jongetje dat opgroeit in een arm Drents landarbeidersgezin en dat zich allengs steeds minder wil schikken naar zijn lot. Bartjes beroemd geworden uitroep als moeder bruine bonen opschept, en vader oproept tot gebed: "Ik bid niet veur brune bonen" is exemplarisch.
Op 4 september 1954 werd in de tuin achter het oude gemeentehuis in het centrum van Assen, het beeld van Bartje onthuld. Het beeld werd gemaakt door Suze Boschma-Berkhout. Ik gebruikte een mini-kopie van het beeldje voor mijn foto.

Bartje Bartels is the main character in a series of Dutch books written by Anne de Vries from 1935 on. The stories are about a boy who grows up in a poor family in the countryside of the northeastern Dutch province of Drenthe.
Bartje does not wants to settle to his destiny. When his mother cooked brown beans again and his father evokes prayer, Bartje cries out; "I do not pray for brown beans. "
There is a statue of Bartje in Assen, made by Suze Bosschma-Berkhout, I used a tiny copy in my picture.

Wem die Burg bekannt ist, der mag vielleicht in der Bildmitte einen Fahnenmast vermissen. Ich gebe zu, mir hat er den mittelalterlichen Eindruck des Motivs zerstört und musste sich daher aus meinem Bild entfernen ;-)

If you know the castle, you may miss a flagpole in the center of the picture. I admit, it destroyed the medieval impression of the motif and therefore had to move away from my picture ;-)

My idea was to show the contrast between ice and fire. So I looked for something flammable and found these matches to freeze properly. In the hope that they would torch properly too. Yesterday I got the taste for it when I photographed the "heart in the fire" ;-) These five also resisted a lot and didn't want to ignite for me at all – but I don't like to give up :-))) Now I have a thick blister on my thumb from the lighter. Then I let a small birthday candle help me (after politely asking her). The ice melt could begin ...

Manchmal sprechen die Dinge mit mir. Oder ich möchte, dass die Dinge mit mir sprechen. Ich tue das ja ebenfalls. Mit denen reden. Manchmal.

Meine Idee war, den Gegensatz von Eis und Feuer zu zeigen. Also habe ich nach etwas Brennbarem gesucht und diese Streichhölzer gefunden, um sie ordnugnsgemäß einzufrieren. In der Hoffnung, dass sie auch ordentlich fackeln würden. Ich war nach gestern auf den Geschmack gekommen, als ich das "Herz im Feuer" fotografiert hatte ;-) Auch diese Fünf haben sich haben sich ordentlich gesträubt und wollten sich erst gar nicht für mich entflammen – aber ich gebe ja nicht gern auf :-))) Jetzt habe ich vom Feuerzeug eine dicke Brandblase am Daumen. Danach habe ich mich von einer kleinen Geburtstagskerze unterstützen lassen (nachdem ich sie höflich gefragt habe). Die Eisschmelze konnte einsetzen ...

I had already written in one of my last photos of this forest near Struppen in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains that an autumn forest shrouded in fog can create ambivalent feelings (that was the post on Halloween).
On the one hand the joyful and romantic ones and on the other the threatening and frightening ones.
Here we are still in a forest of the first category. But as you can see, the second one begins after the next curve.
It can happen so quickly and you switch from “everything looks so great here” to “for heaven’s sake, where did I end up here” (you hear something similar from some one-night stands).
I admit, I'm a big fan of both sides. And so you will always see pictures of me that come from both the bright and the dark world.
Because in the end it all belongs to nature and it is only perfect in its entirety.
Ich hatte ja schon bei einem meiner letzten Fotos von diesem Wald bei Struppen im Elbsandsteingebirge geschrieben, das ein in Nebel gehüller Herbstwald ambivalente Gefühle erzeugen kann (das war der post an Halloween).
Auf der einen Seite die freudigen und romantischen und auf der anderen die bedrohlichen und Angst einflösenden.
Hier befinden wir gerade noch in einem Waldstück der ersten Kathegorie. Doch wie ihr sehen könnt beginnt die zweite bereits nach der nächsten Kurve.
So schnell kann das gehen und man wechselt von "das sieht hier ja alles so toll aus" zu "um Himmels willen, wo bin ich denn hier gelandet" (ähnliches hört man sonst auch von manchem One-Night-Stand).
Ich gebe zu, ich bin ein großer Fan von beiden Seiten. Und so werdet Ihr auch immer Bilder von mir zu sehen bekommen die sowohl aus der hellen als auch der düsteren Welt stammen.
Denn am Ende gehört das alles zur Natur und die ist nur in hrer Gänze vollkommen.

A forest is full of trees, and lots of them. I admit that up to this point it hasn't really been a groundbreaking insight.
And although several tree species usually come together to form a forest (at least in naturally grown forests), they all look more or less similar.
But from time to time you come across one who outshines all the others. Who can change the atmosphere around it with it's appearance and what simply cannot be overlooked. And once you've seen it, it won't let you go. Here you can see one of these specimens (a beech tree, just in case anyone is interested).
By the way, this phenomenon also exists in humans. There are specimens that somehow glow from within, regardless of whether they want it or not.
An encounter with such people is always something special, which usually stays in our memory for a long time and in some cases even has a significant impact on our entire future lives. I can spontaneously think of several such encounters.
However, at this point there is a significant difference between the forest and the people.
In the forest you find the One with the eyes but among the people only with the heart.
Ein Wald steht voller Bäume und zwar Unmengen davon. Ich gebe zu bis hierher war das noch keine wirklich bahnbrechende Erkenntnis.
Und obwohl sich meist (zumindest in natürlich gewachsenen Wäldern) mehrere Baumarten zu einem Wald vereinen so sehen sie sich doch alle mehr oder weniger ähnlich.
Doch von Zeit zu Zeit trifft man auf einen, der alle anderen überstrahlt. Der mit seiner Erscheinung die Atmosphäre um sich herum verändern kann und der einfach nicht zu übersehen ist. Und wenn Du ihn einmal gesehen hat, lässt er Dich nicht mehr los. Hier seht Ihr eins dieser Exemplare (eine Buche, nur für den Fall, dass es jemanden interessiert).
Bei den Menschen gibt es dieses Phänomen übrigens auch. Da gibt es Exemplare die irgendwie von innen heraus leuchten und das egal, ob sie es wollen oder nicht.
Eine Begegnung mit solchen Menschen ist immer etwas Besonderes, was meisst noch lange im Gedächtnis bleibt und in manchen Fällen sogar nennenswerte Außwirkungen auf unser gesamtes weiteres Leben hat. Mir fallen spontan mehrere solche Begegnungen ein.
Doch an dieser Stelle es gibt einen bedeutenden Unterschied zwischen dem Wald und den Menschen.
Im Wald findet man den Einen mit den Augen doch bei den Menschen ausschließlich mit dem Herzen.

For the ladies around him, this Turkey probably looks like Adonis himself. I'll admit, to me he looks more like he's rolled a male genitalia inside out and pulled it over his face (zoom in to see for yourself).
Certainly there have seldom been two more different opinions than mine and those of the hens.
Fortunately, my opinion is not important here. And unlike many people who always go by how others might judge them, he doesn't give a damn. Smart guy. And he's a gorgeous guy, isn't he?
Mit den Schönheitsidealen ist das so eine Sache. Sie sind so wechselhaft und überall anders.
Für die Ladies um ihn herum sieht dieser Truthahn wahrscheinlich aus wie Adonis selbst. Ich gebe zu, für mich wirkt er eher, als hätte er ein männlches Geschlechtsorgan umgekrempelt und es sich über das Gesicht gezogen (schaut ihn euch mal aus der Nähe an).
Sicherlich haben selten zwei Meinungen mehr auseinander gelegen als meine und die der Hühner.
Zum Glück ist meine Meinung hier nicht wichtig. Und im Gegensatz zu vielen Menschen, die sich immer nach dem ausrichten, wie andere sie möglicherweise beurteilen könnten, ist die ihm völlig egal. Kluger Typ. Und ein Prachtkerl ist er schon oder ?

At the end of the week (at least the working week) I have another photo from the morning on mt. Winterstein in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
I admit that I'm starting to run out of words to describe this special spectacle of fog and light. And I still have at least 4 or 5 pictures here waiting to be published. In this context, I would like to express my admiration that you can still think of ways to comment on my posts. And of course with great gratitude that you not only took the time to look at the picture, but also thought about a reaction. I really appreciate that.
Oh well . Let's see if I have another idea by next time. For today I'll just let the view sink in.
Zum Ausklang der Woche (zumindest der Arbeitswoche) gibt es von mir wieder ein Foto vom Morgen auf dem Winterstein im Elbsandsteingebirge.
Ich gebe zu, dass mir langsam keine Worte mehr einfallen, um dieses besondere Schauspiel aus Nebel und Licht zu beschreiben. Und dabei habe ich immernoch mindestens 4 oder 5 Bilder hier, die auf eine Veröffentlichung warten.In diesem Zusammenhang möchte ich Euch meine Bewunderung aussprechen, dass Euch immernoch etwas einfällt, wie Ihr meine Posts kommentieren könnt. Und natürlich verbunden mit großer Dankbarkeit, dass Ihr Euch nicht nur die Zeit nehmt das Bild zu betrachten, sondern Euch auch noch Gedanken über eine Reaktion macht. Ich weiß das sehr zu schätzen.
Naja . mal sehen ob ich bis zum nächsten Mal wieder eine Idee habe. Für heute lasse ich einfach mal den Anblick wirken.

The time of crocuses is almost over and I still haven't published all the photos of these beautiful flowers.
I'm just too productive this year and there are always new experiences with new photos (usually several at once) that I want to share with you. A real waiting list then builds up.
If it sounds like I'm complaining about it, of course I'm not. It actually makes me very happy.
Only sometimes, like today, it puts a tiny bit of pressure on me. And today I'm giving in to that and reducing the Krokus waiting list by one.
Die Zeit der Krokusse ist schon fast wieder vorbei und ich hab immer noch nicht alle Fotos von diesen wunderschönen Blumen veröffentlicht.
Ich bin dieses Jahr einfach zu produktiv und es kommen immer wieder neue Erlebnisse mit neue Fotos dazu (meisten gleich mehrere auf einmal), die ich mit Euch teilen möchte. Da baut sich dann eine richtige Warteliste auf.
Falls das so klingt, als würde ich mich jetzt darüber beschweren, dass tue ich natürlich nicht. Es macht mich sogar sehr glücklich.
Nur manchmal, so wie heute, setzt es mich ein klitzekleines bisschen unter Druck. Und dem gebe ich heute nach und baue die Krokus Warteliste um eines ab.

Zur Abwechslung in meinem Fotostream lade ich heute mal wieder eine Aufnahme aus meinen Sitzungen mit der Wasseramsel von Oktober 2022 hoch. Ein paar unveröffentliche Bilder sind noch da ;-)
Die Urschlauer Ache ist an der Stelle an der ich das Foto gemacht habe tief eingeschnitten. Deshalb ist es dort am Nachmittag ziemlich dunkel und das Licht enthält viel Blau und etwas Grün. Den Weißabgleich habe ich Canon DPP machen lassen, das Farbprofil ist "Natürlich" und ansonsten habe ich es nur etwas heller gemacht und eine leichte Vignette hinzugefügt. Ich gebe zu, das ist (wieder) eine ziemlich faule Bearbeitung aber ich gehe viel lieber fotografieren als dass ich am Computer sitze.

For a change in my photostream, I'm uploading another shot from my sessions with the dipper from October 2022. There are still some unpublished photos left.
The Urschlauer Ache is deeply cut at the point where I took the photo. Therefore it is quite dark there in the afternoon and the light contains a lot of blue and some green. I had Canon DPP do the white balance, the colour profile is ‘faithful’ and apart from that I just made the image a bit brighter and added a slight vignette. I admit it's a pretty lazy edit (again) but I'd much rather be out taking photos than sitting at the computer.

I admit, saying goodbye isn't easy. I've truly fallen in love with this area.
But the fact that I already have two reasons to return is reassuring.
Firstly, I absolutely want to experience the lotus blossom on this lake, which I've already told you about, and secondly, there's a place here called "The Kissing Cave" that I haven't visited yet.

Ich gebe zu, der Abschied fällt mir nicht ganz leicht. Denn diese Gegend hier hat es mir wirklich angetan.
Doch die Tatsache, dass ich jetzt schon zwei Gründe habe, hier her zurück zu kehren beruhigt mich.
Zum einen möchte ich unbedingt die Lotusblüte auf diesem See erleben, von der ich Euch bereits berichtet habe und zum anderen gibt es hier einen Ort der "Die Höhle der Küssenden" heißt, den ich bisher noch nicht besucht habe.
