After relying on speedlights for a long time, I finally decided that I 'needed' a small, battery powered, studio strobe. Early last year, I bought my first Quadra Hybrid. 6 months later, the second was delivered. And this week I got the third. Somewhere along this slippery path, I also got the HS trigger. Not only to do actual HS shots, but more so that I can use strobes with the EOS M3. Which has no 'exposure simulation off' option, leaving me with a black screen, when using strobes.

My 430EX's are for sale now.

they might as well be paperweights until i feel like shooting again...

i hope it will be soon.. doing this home renovation killed my desire to shoot.

polaroid slr680se: lying around somewhere.. (goes to erika).

I've never done a "what's in your bag" ever because I generally don't carry a bag honestly.

But since i'll be traveling this weekend and in April I finally decided what will go.

- Bare Bones Classic Bag (CourierWare, courtesy of IceBear on RFF!)

- Leica M2 with Summicron-C 40mm f2

- Rolleiflex 2.8f

- Sony RX-100

- JapanCameraHunter Film Case (Thanks Trevor!)

- Container Store little container for 120 film

- LG Nexus 4 (doubles as light meter)

I'll jam some more film in there like that Neopan box, and my business cards (which are absent for some reason)

This is probably as much gear as I would ever want to take at one time.

Not seen is my Olympus OM-2n with 50mm f1.8 MC as my trusty back-up.

There, life goal checked off.

Phew, I was getting scared that I wasn't going to be able to shoot an edit a photo that I was satisfied with. After three failed ideas, I defaulted to taking a photo of my brother's new GoPro Hero 3 camera. It's a beauty and it shoots in 4K resolution!

Note: I do not take ownership of the "Be a hero" tagline and I am not affiliated with GoPro in any way.

I admit, I got hooked looking at the photos here on Flickr from X-Pans. The thrill of seeing in a new frameline was enough of a challenge.

I've always wanted to try one of these.

The moment I got it, the paint came off, which is normal... Maybe I should photograph the progression of this camera slowly becoming just bare titanium.

Yup, I'm crazy about photography. I know, it's not my usual production value. Heck, it's not even focused.

What's in my lighting bag. Gearwhoring.

this is my first light/flash meter that hasnt been an in camera or on camera version (my zenit cameras had them build in, though not TTL)

i have been wanting one for a while, and this one does pretty much anything i want it to. it will come in handy in the studio.

Kaitlyn hit the road and I racked up for my annual escape into red rock country.

thank you, ebay.

i got a Polaroid 180 pack film camera on ebay for $66 (they usually go for $200-350).

this is a professional grade polaroid pack-film camera with a Tominon 114mm f/4.5 four-element glass lens and a fully manual seikosha leaf shutter.

fully manual as in you need a light meter and set the shutter speed and f/stop.

oh...YOU KNOW
