Victorian era greenhouse in the walled garden of Holkham Hall, Norfolk.

Multiple spur gears and racks slide windows up and down to control ventilation. Inside all that there are iron frames ready to support shades. Victorian engineering made, as a matter of course, to work without complaint for decades. The greenhouse was actually allowed to decay but is now restored to former beauty.

The quirky rendering attempts to highlight the engineering and the glorious repeating geometry.

Gears to open the gates releasing water from Lake Conway

Ich wünsche euch einen berauschenden letzten Februartag - dann einen guten Start in ein frohes und sonniges, erstes März-Wochenende!

Some days you go out to capture a beautiful water mill on an open river, and you come back with shots of the worm gear used to open the the sluice gates, oh well, 'eye of the beholder' and all that...

A small flock of Mallards (Anas platyrhychos) coming in for a landing in the Corn stubble field.

These birds arrived about an hour after the harvesting machines were finished.

I wonder who told them!

Contraption for Macro Monday - gears on a bike...its crazy to see all the tiny things stuck in the gears.

Macro Mondays - Fasteners

I like these things. Brilliant little device that can be used in so many ways. Most might know this as a hose clamp.

Happy Macro Monday

Cuando todos los días resulten iguales es porque el hombre ha dejado de percibir las cosas buenas que surgen en su vida cada vez que el sol cruza el cielo.

Bald Eagle diving with gear down.

I bought a Nikon D850 this year, it cost me a arm and a leg but I have it..... and that's about it 😂. It is far superior to what gear I had so far, but... I don't use it any differently that I had so far... :| . Rather than investing money in a expensive camera I should had bought a better tripod ( I have good lenses I only need a 600 mm) and I should had invest in traveling or doing something else. I don't regret buying it... but since I have it is stays in the dark.I really hope I will have some time to travel a little bit, the place where I am is quite dull and I don't really like taking portraits or human related, and I should really learn to do better images and create my own style. Do you have any photo equipement that you bought but don't use?

Flickr Lounge: Old...gears. No idea how old, but got them off of eBay a while back and assume they are from old watches as new watches no longer use gears ;) They were arranged on a light table to create the silhouette look and cleaned up dust spots to give it a clean look
