The façade of Casa Batlló ripples and breathes like a living organism. Antoni Gaudí’s masterpiece fuses bone-like balconies, mosaic scales, and flowing windows into a surreal vision—nature and architecture entwined in a fantastical dance.

In Northern Spain, Astorga is one of the main stops of the French Camino.

Its Cathedral is vast and superb, and we were glad we could visit its sacred art museum.

The other stopping point of the monumental Astorga is the Gaudi Palace or Episcopal Palace (in the picture). It is a Modernist work authored by the famous Architect but inspired by a charmingly old aesthetic. On the outside, we encounter an almost Disney-like Castle, but the interior is exquisitely ornamented. We visited a fascinating museum (Museo de los Caminos), located on several of the building's levels.

No norte de Espanha, Astorga é um dos principais pontos de paragem no Caminho Francês de Santiago.

A catedral é enorme e soberba, e ficamos satisfeitos por ter optado por visitar o museu de arte sacra, recheado de peças medievais.

O outro grande ponto de interesse da Astorga monumental é o Palácio de Gaudi, ou Palácio Episcopal (na foto). É uma obra Modernista assinada pelo famoso arquitecto, e inspirada numa estética medieval. No exterior, encontramos um castelo “quase Disney”, mas o interior revela uma decoração e design mais sofisticados. Um museu fascinante (Museo de los Caminos), expande-se pelos vários níveis do edifício e foi, para nós, uma visita incontornável.
