30/05/2022, at the Hasselwanter bakery.
During the 1,000 km drive from Koper, Slovenia, to Detmold, Germany, I drove off the motorway in search of a coffee.
In the little town of Pfarrwerfen, Austria, I found the delightful Hasselwanter bakery and cafe.
The only other customers were a group of distinguished locals, most wearing the traditional 'Tracht' (Austrian costume), and having a beer.
We fell into conversation and they announced they were holding a wake, following the death, and funeral (that afternoon) of a friend.
Despite wanting to get back to the drive, I spent a pleasant hour or so with them, putting the world to rights.

A male Brown Hare trying to push the other male off. finally found some Brown Hares today after looking for a few weeks. They were chasing all over the field most of the morning. Unfortunately they did not stop to "box" so still waiting for that shot
Silver-studded Blues, the mating pair were being constantly attacked by another amorous male trying to muscle in on the act as you will see from the other images. It did actually get them to fly a couple of times and still continued its onslaught.

This is a shot of the happy bride from the wedding I gatecrashed in Russia. It was happening at our hotel and the photographer they had was just not filling me with confidence watching him work. So, I took it upon myself to try to get a message to the couple that they could have a few free photos. No one spoke English so I was using Google translate on my iPhone to the hotel waiter who I then saw walk into the wedding party, everyone gathered around then i saw a smile and a nod from the couple to him. Showtime!!
I had to work quick as they had a tight schedule but I managed to pull them aside for 10 mins and I shot this just around the corner with the evening sun behind and flaring into the lens and the groom holding my reflector as fill. It's always nice when people ask you to level on your watermark! I love my job! :)

The Gatecrasher's pilot & co-pilot were space navy fighter aces who were court martialed from the service for disobeying direct orders, and they haven't changed – they keep the team unpredictable. Their flying style is extremely aggressive and they are known for taking risks that many other racers (and the circuit's emergency crews!) would consider unacceptable. Sponsors love to support them anyway because the team's flashiness keeps it in the media spotlight.
A procession of elderly minifigs that paid tribute to the anniversary of the architecture was ravaged by a party of partying people. The procession with well-known figs from the late seventies, early eighties of the last century, left the archive in serene silence and headed towards the city center. There they wanted to meditate for two minutes, especially on the oldest architecture sets, who exist for ten years this year. However, a group of youngsters, dressed in party costumes and provided with drinks and musical instruments, gatecrashed the ceremony to announce their own 40-year existence.
The effect was explosive. The buildings suddenly found themselves boring. They exchanged their predominantly black, gray and beige look for a psychedelic color palette. Lanterns and garlands came out. The elderly figures decided on their turn to provide themselves with a more exuberant appearance. They too grabbed the snacks and drinks that were brought in and they formed spontaneously a space rock band. The Burj Khalifa and the Rockefeller Center offered themselves as a stage. The police who were present (1 agent) did not intervene. The party lasted until well into the year, and continued without further incidents.
Ok, so there's a gatecrashing sawfly in there as well, but everyone is welcome. Have a fun Flyday. HFDF!

This guy seriously does not take a bad picture! Dave contacted me and asked if we could meet up to see how we got on and see if we could work together and come up with some projects. So I drop the kids off at playgroup and head to meet him eating my breakfast in the car and spilling my juice all over me!!! (Not a good start).
We head back to mine have a cuppy tea and do a couple of test shots. I then asked him to take his clothes of ha ha!! Well only his top. I was hoping to hell that the normal tractor drivers weren't gonna drive past and think "what the hell is she up to"
Anyway I love this guy, I've told him if he makes it as a model he has to take me to the top with him ;-))
