Die Garten-Tulpe (Tulipa gesneriana) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung der Tulpen (Tulipa) in der Familie der Liliengewächse (Liliaceae). Diese Art ist eine alte persische Kulturpflanze deren genaue Herkunft unklar ist. Möglicherweise stammt sie von Tulipa armena oder Tulipa schrenkii ab.
Das Palais im Großen Garten, auch bezeichnet als Sommer- oder Gartenpalais, ist ein ab 1679 errichtetes barockes Lustschloss in Dresden. Es befindet sich im Großen Garten, einer weitläufigen Grünanlage am Rande des Stadtzentrums.
Das Palais gilt als erster bedeutender Profanbau in Sachsen, der nach dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg errichtet wurde. Es ist außerdem eines der frühesten Barockbauwerke im deutschsprachigen Raum und zählt zu den kunst- und kulturhistorisch wichtigsten Gebäuden Dresdens. Es gilt als „Auftakt“ zum Dresdner Barock.
The Palais in the Great Garden, also known as the summer or garden palace, is a baroque pleasure palace in Dresden that was built in 1679. It is located in the Großer Garten, a spacious green area on the outskirts of the city center.
The palace is considered the first important secular building in Saxony to be built after the Thirty Years' War. It is also one of the earliest baroque buildings in the German-speaking world and is one of the most important buildings in Dresden in terms of art and cultural history. It is considered the "prelude" to Dresden Baroque.
Around this time many flowers are blooming in our garden -
most of them roses. Here under the apple tree a poisonous foxglove.

Loch Garten and the adjoining Loch Mallachie are always great places to visit in any weather, but when the winds are light, the reflections of the Caledonian Forest in the peaty waters can look spectacular. I was lucky on the morning I took this image that the winds were light and the sun was out.

Spot the two birds :)
For a change, this is a new (outside!) photo, taken just a few days ago at the wonderful Britzer Garten, one of Berlin's biggest and most beautiful public parks (please check my album for more "Britz bliss", if you like).
For better dynamic range, I've used exposure bracketing (three images), pre-processed the images in DXO PhotoLab (sharpness and DeepPrime denoising only), from which I directly went into HDR Efex Pro to combine the images. I'm trying to get away from the annual Adobe subscription, and combining images from an exposure bracketing series in HDR Efex instead of Lightroom is one step into that direction. Unfortunately, whenever I think I can finally leave Adobe behind for good they come up with improvements such as the new "supersize" function (now also available in LR), a ton of new presets for LR, and other interesting stuff (and I'm still used to the LR/PS workflow, and the layers in PS). Well, maybe I'll be ready next year ;)
Extra sliding was done in Color Efex, where I added some "Brilliance and Warmth" and a tiny bit of "Contrast Color Range".
