Timber at Garden of the Gods. This is a retouch of one of my old photos from a couple years ago.

This shot is pretty stunning in color so I'll save it for later next week. In the meantime, I'll start off with the b/w which I'm happy with save for the hot spot near the branches.
Picked up the new Mac OS Snow Leopard yesterday. There's been some discussion over compatibility with existing software. I processed this using lightroom, photoshop cs3, photomatix and encountered no problems. This does not constitute a full test but for what I do, I'm fine... (MS Office '04 is fine as well but runs under rosetta).

This is Dante, puppy #2 in my 100 dog strangers project (i dont know ill ever meet that many dogs!! LOL!!)
He was with his mommy Sue at Garden of the Gods a couple of weeks ago, and kept chasing little field mice as well as bees (which is what has his attention Twnklmoon ;) lol) He's only 3 1/2 months old, so his little mind works in overdrive im sure! He was attention hungry and totally playful :) but difficult to photograph because of how hyper he was!!
Nice meeting you Sue and Dante!
Listening to you,
I get the music.
Gazing at you,
I feel the heat.
Following you,
I climb the mountains.
I get excitement at your feet.
Many people assume the name comes from a Native American name for the area. In fact, the name of the park only dates back to August 1859 when two surveyors helping to set up nearby Colorado City were exploring the nearby areas. Upon discovering the site, one of the surveyors, M. S. Beach, suggested that it would be a "capital place for a beer garden." His companion, the young Rufus Cable, awestruck by the impressive rock formations, exclaimed, "Beer Garden! Why it is a fit place for the gods to assemble. We will call it the Garden of the Gods." The beer garden never materialized, but the name stuck.
