I have to be really careful about feeding the birds having two killer cats

The name of this building really is "Avant Garde" - a sure sign that the developers are trying hard to dress it up as desirable urban chic. Sclater Street, Shoreditch.

Guêpe de garde ! Guard wasp !

Guard dogs

Ambalavao (Madagascar) -This scene is the exception that proves the rule, according to which at least one human element must be in my photos. In reality, I often photograph dogs and animals, more generally, but if the image does not conform to my postulate, I keep it to myself. Except today.

There are many stray dogs in Madagascar. Some live in poor sanitary conditions and are often skeletal due to chronic malnutrition.

If you want to see dogs a little less starving, you have to go to the markets and more particularly near the butcher shops, where there is always a bone or a piece of fat to glean. In the photo above, the butcher shop is closed. The dogs stand guard, in their own way, in front of the door, waiting for it to open.

Another year... THE RED TULIPS ARE BACK! What will they be up to this year? Lol!

En garde is a French phrase meaning 'on guard'. Used to warn a fencer to assume the position preparatory to a duel, or to warn an opponent in chess that their queen is threatened.

Salute, the bout is over, beads are building up, FOR ALL THE GLORIOUS DETAIL, View LARGE and On Black.

There are no secrets... it only took me years of experimenting in the studio. First you hit it with everything you've got, like all things in life, hihi, now it is less and less. Just one spotlight set up in the position so that the light catches the edges and part of the flower... until I'm happy... a black bg.

I use cutters and flags to shield and play with the light.

Photography is an Art, a way of life and seeing life, it is my passion, mental and emotional nourishment. All I can say is experiment, experiment, experiment... the exposure is irrelevant because each flower, light source is different. Make it your own!

Have a wonderful day, filled with love and thanx for your visit, M, (*_*)

Why not view the set as a slide-show?

Also I often upload more than one image at the same time, I see a tendency to only view the last uploaded...

Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Winefride is a Roman Catholic church in Amlwch on the island of Anglesey, North Wales. It was built in the 1930s to a design by the Italian architect Giuseppe Rinvolucri using reinforced concrete. The church, in the shape of an upturned boat with port-hole shaped windows, reflects Amlwch's maritime heritage. This remarkable inter-war church, built to a highly unusual and experimental design, has been called "one of Britain's most avant-garde churches".

The Republican Guard opened the Célestins quarter for a visit. Equestrian and musical training took place throughout the day.

The saddlers, helmets, foragers and farriers presented their unique "know-how" thus perpetuating the tradition of the old crafts for the benefit of the cavalry.
