Lake Garda, in northern Italy, is known for its crystal clear water. At the south end, the town of Sirmione is dominated by the Rocca Scaligera, a fortress with harbor views. The nearby Grotte di Catullo archaeological site includes a Roman villa. On the lake's western shore, in Gardone Riviera, is Il Vittoriale degli Italiani, former home of poet d’Annunzio. The Dolomites frame Riva del Garda, a resort in the north.

Sconti, Veronesi, casa di Prezzemolo, bagnati fradici, montagne russe, panini di tia, cimena di-manico, atlantide, bagnati fradici ancora, la torre che faceva paura a marco, frecce tricolori, tante risate, naso scottato, cinque blu tornado di fila (compresa ultima corsa), schiena rotta, dormito tanto sulle gambe, felicità servita in dosi abbondanti nel corso di un'unica giornata.

Both my daughters are massive fans of theme parks and thrill rides; their mother and I are not. However, when visiting these establishments we try to make the most of it, and even have a go on some of the gentler rides (that does not include the one pictured above). Gardaland actually turned out to be one of the best theme parks we've ever been to (and there have been many), and we all had a lovely day out.
