Japan has Garbage collection days were different kind of garbage gets picked up. On marked places you have a sign that tells you on which weekday which garbage (burning, not burning, etc) gets picked up.
So early in the morning people have to bring the garbage there. I am lucky as I have a garbage place in my appartment building and it is taken care of for me.

This is a garbage can that lies on our most common doglet-walking route. I try to be a good citizen and bag up the dog poo and tie off the bag - then discard the bag in a garbage can. This can is sometimes the one where this happens, and recently this message showed up on it. I assume it means "please don't put dog poop in here", or at least I figure no harm is done if I stop putting it there.

The Collex garbage train at its country destination of Crisps Creek. This train often has interesting motive power, including use of Alco 80 class. This day was one of the first runs with a PN livery DL class. 3 locos, 3 liveries, 2 types. Nice.

Every time I head to suburban mall Scarborough Town Centre (Toronto), something happens.
This time, our train stopped before getting into the station due to a small fire inside a garbage (rubbish) bin caused by a cigarette butt. The fire fighters were just finishing with the clean-up when our train was given the go-ahead to enter the station.
