Group C Overview — Modern GT Racing

Group C represents the modern GT racing landscape within the HSR Classic 6 Hour program. These cars come from FIA, IMSA, Grand‑Am, and international GT competition, showcasing the evolution of GT engineering from the early 2000s through the current GT4 and TCR eras. With advanced aerodynamics, sequential gearboxes, and high‑output engines, Group C delivers some of the most competitive and visually dynamic racing of the weekend.

C‑2 Class — FIA/IMSA GT2 & GTD Machinery

C‑2 features high‑performance GT2 and GTD‑spec cars such as the Mercedes‑AMG GT3, Porsche 991 RSR, and Porsche 991.2 GT3 R. These cars combine aggressive aero, wide‑body construction, and endurance‑focused engineering. They are among the fastest GT cars in the field, capable of immense braking performance and high‑speed stability through Watkins Glen’s flowing corners.

C‑4 & C‑5 Classes — Homologated Cup & Challenge Cars

These classes include Porsche GT3 Cup machinery from multiple generations — 991.1, 991.2, and 992 platforms.
