What an amazing day with a tremendous outcome. I reached Zavvi's flagship store in Oxford Street for about 9.30am - yes in the morning. Was sure I was by the right (right as in correct) door, the Zavvi staff in attendance didn't seem to know what was going on, totally unorganised as always!

So I started my queuing by the main entrance and was joined by Yukzel and soon after Daniel. Trying to figure out if we were at the right entrance, we started going over MGS4 and other things trying to build momentum. Once Zavvi had got their act together a security guard informed us that the line would start at the other entrance - so typical, we upped and moved to the back entrance, by this time my legs were aching.

At about 1pm I was gettin rather tired, frustrated, bored - the usual. I thought I'd call one of my best friends from college - Ken (the legend himself). In about half an hour he was there and joined the queue by my side. Since we wasn't liking the idea of sitting on the floor we picked up some portable chairs from Argos, and at £5.95 a piece you can't complain. If us boys are going to wait 11 hours we make sure we do it in style :)

Zavvi staff gave out some free energy drinks (which were disgusting btw) to keep us goin for another 11 hours. I've never liked Red Bull or any of them drinks, they make me feel unclean and scummy, ergh!

A while later a few flashy white shirt Konami reps came out showing off an AMAZING hand drawn 'Old Snake' signed by Hideo Kojima and most probably drawn by Yoji Shinkawa, MGS fanboys were drooling as was I.

Day passed, rush hour kicked in, and pollution swept through mine and Ken's lungs, I had never felt so dirty in my life. Eventually the skies darkened, the looneys came out and Kier & Marcus came down to join me for the launch. With an hour left until the doors opened we all thought we'd kill some time by walking round Oxford Street for a half hour. Got back and done an interview with Gamespot UK and got a few photos taken by the press.

With about 10 mins to go, Zavvi opened the door and let the first 15 in through, as we waited we were finally greeted by the manager (Ian) who congratulated me on being the first in line and told me that I had won the 6ft 'Old Snake' model. Wo0o wasn't the wait worth it - that's what I thought.

Camera's were flashing all over me as I walked through the store to the till to pick up my game, I looked god awful, but what can you do ay? Had to do another interview for Gamespot UK, and pose for a couple other publications. By the way if you see any photos of me around the internet eyeballing a Snake figure just know i had no part in that, I was forced :)

Purchased my two copies of the game and picked up a goodie bag with a MGS4 tee, MGS4 lanyard, and MGS: Portable Ops for the PSP. All in all it was a great experience as tired as I was, winning the 'Old Snake' figure was the cherry on top for me. Time for some shut-eye, I can always play MGS4 tomorrow!

And we enjoy Benoit Sokal's beautiful landscaping in them.

Adventure games are more about story and finding things than they are about killing people like most US video games. They are popular in Europe and Japan. Paradise is from the designer who made the

award winning Syberia Games. If you are interested, check these games out. You can get them used quite affordably.

Took some shots of my 1966 Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider Duetto in GT4 at the Burg. This time I've altered the contrast on the image. It seems all the contrast fiddling on the playstation matters for naught. It does not take into account the gamma of the screen. So I've gimped the colour contrast up.
