I decided to share this image for the upcoming #macromondays theme called #GamePieces
Game pieces are physical or digital objects used in board games, tabletop games, and video games to represent players, characters, resources, or other game elements. They come in various shapes, sizes, and materials, depending on the game’s mechanics and theme.
Types of Game Pieces
Player Tokens – Represent individual players on the game board (e.g., Monopoly tokens, Chess pieces).
Meeples – Small, humanoid wooden figures used in Euro-style board games (e.g., Carcassonne).
Dice – Used for randomization, movement, or determining outcomes (e.g., Dungeons & Dragons, Yahtzee).
Cards – Can serve as game pieces when used for actions, characters, or resources (e.g., Magic: The Gathering, Uno).
Tiles – Used to build maps or change the game layout (e.g., Settlers of Catan, Mahjong).
Miniatures – Detailed figurines representing characters or units, often used in strategy and role-playing games (e.g., Warhammer, D&D).
Chips & Tokens – Represent points, money, or resources (e.g., poker chips, victory points in board games).
Board Markers or Pawns – Basic pieces used for movement on a board (e.g., Sorry!, Ludo).

I had a great birthday.
ps: Today is Lara's birthday!
pps: Our roadtrip up the California coast begins… NOW!
Clearing out the spare room I rediscovered this treasure - spotted in a charity shop by my boyfriend, but currently much neglected in a suitcase under the bed. 4 gamecards featuring 36 charming bird illustrations, with matching lotto cards. Far too nice to keep under the bed, but what to do with it? I might frame the gamecards, maybe. Hmm...
Created for review for a test at school. We take tests every nine weeks to prepare students for the SOLs (statewide tests). I played a review game last week (for a different topic) and the students loved it. So I came up with a similar game for this test.
576 cards later, I have 12 sets of cards. Thank heavens for a cutting board!
And this will have to be my picture of the day, b/c I've spent too long on it and want to get back to my book.

This game that came in a lot of ephemera. It must have been some kind of pronominal item but I'm not sure for what, maybe a grocery store. I really like all the girl' names.

There are many variations of rules around the world, but we have incorporated the above favorites into our games!

I've often cited my complete lack of recent gaming experience (aside from Wii Tennis), but recently I was delighted to find that the most beloved gaming franchise of my formative years, Wing Commander, was now available in a form that can run on recent versions of Windows: www.gog.com/en/gamecard/wing_commander_1_2
Graphics are not what you young folk are used to, but if you have any interest in flying games or space battles at all, I'd thoroughly recommend it, especially for how cheap the package of both games is!
Ok, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, time to pick up the slack!
Antique single swap Parker Brothers playing card from their game, Rook. Great time period look and creep factor. People collect single playing cards (also known as swap cards) like others collect postcards, stamps or baseball cards and put them into similar albums for display. Depending on the subject matter either the front or back of the card is displayed. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!

This week I celebrated my annual level-up event and since I’m a lonely nerd I wasn’t partying hard but rather took a few shots…from my figures.
For this quick side project, I combined some crafted stuff with CG, to reenact an official illustration of Futaba Sana by Taniguchi Junichirou. It’s not a perfect match and even the figure itself, that is clearly inspired by this pose deviates quite a bit from the artwork.

Original game ($50) + 4 game cards ($30*4=$120) + Burning Crusade ($40) + 2 months of subscription I didn't use game cards for ($30) = $240. I just made myself sad.

-->> I presume all the game cards are randomly packed. These are the cards i received with the SHREDDER set. The KRAANG set i received later also came with two different cards.
