Now this is the kind of thing I came here for! Brylaine’s ALX400 Tridents are mainly restricted to schools and secondary services (and probably secondary services to secondary schools...), but to an extent it’s pot luck what gets allocated since Optare single decks can also be randomly churned out in place of ALXs. I figured my best bet trying to get some more of their Tridents down would be to wait in Horncastle as vehicles congregated in readiness for the end of the school day, and my plan worked!
LX04 FYF looks very much like another of theirs I saw in Skegness one time; all-over red except for a blue bumper and a faded white patch on the rear. This was formerly Stagecoach London 18239 – one of the more unusual dual door ALX400s to have the exit door immediately behind the front axle, as opposed to further back like most others. It was converted to single door and has been operated by Brylaine since 2017.
