THEME: PHANTOM OF THE OPERA - MASQUERADE SCENE.

I designed masks for each of the main characters (Erik - The Phantom, Raoul & Christine Daae), based upon their character profiles, described in the original book by Gaston Leroux. I also tried to find models that I thought suited. =)

For all you fans out there who admire Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera as much as I do, you will know that Raoul, the Vicomte de Chagny is the hero .

In the book, he is described as having a "small, fair mustache, beautiful blue eyes, and a complexion like a girl's and an air of "just having left the women's apron-strings."

I created my mask using gold-coloured feathers and literally stuck them to the skin using (here comes the technical bit)...skin glue! I created an eagle design because something told me that eagles mimic power, wealth and are thought as saviours.

Pre-painted latex appliance looks like infectious blisters & boils

My wife and I practicing our lighting and makeup skills.

Lighting Info: Nikon SB-600 in beauty box camera left a bit up high.

Tonight I photographed a halloween party. The guy who had the party wanted me to be a paparazzi. So I decided to be a zombie paparazzi. The photo doesn't do the justice of how awesome my makeup looked if I must say so myself! I used FX wax, fake blood, and liquid latex along with a bunch of makeup. I also originally had on a black wig. And I did have some crazy teeth, but it was scaring all of the little kids and they didn't even want to come close to me for their photos! haha! And the funniest thing was that so many people told me that they liked the way my face looked. Funny how we don't hear such things when we AREN'T in costume!
