Experimental shot, experimental bus: a Paint.net HDR processed shot of ex-Bournemouth Yellow Buses R8 TYB about to have a break between services. Thoughtfully specified, both batches of Bournemouth's Tempos were relatively futureproofed.

Happy buses, Tempos are superbly light, airy, smooth, friendly, simplistic and adaptable❣ Nottingham's emobdy stunning art deco esque dividers, vibrant colours, custom mouldings and skylights. The other Transdev ones (eg YJ60KAA to the left) have soft touch trimmings, though they're especially mellow. Bournemouth's batches are practical, clever and futuristic;

Wrapped within reflective white walls, LED uplighting sparkles (later became Optare standard), above floating Civic V3s complete with Tardis-like grab handles, intuitive bespoke handrest foot-guard rails curved around the social seating, hovering next stop VFD ticker-tape (which makes a badass date clock), and sophisticated pretty but practical sheer 'sail' dividers (later became Optare standard). They're just missing USB charging! Their later 2010 batch even featured Versa (& Solo SR) LED side repeaters!

Early on in 2020 I chose to thoroughly experience Tempo 28 King's LyNN, and it's quite nice. Just a shame their maintenance was so heavy handed! Stagecoach 15809 providing the background.

Gefällt mir ganz gut der Stand #futureproofed die Bar ist aus alten Jeans 👖 #exporeal #münchen #munich #messe #messemünchen #fairtrade #nachhaltigleben #nachhaltigbauen #startup #gummibäume #realinvestment #realestate #immobilien #senkrechtstarter #rolex #ahhschmarrn #brauchichnicht

As ever with the uni buses, I struggle to get them because whenever I'm free to go looking for them is mostly when they're on reduced out-of-term timetables. Just when I thought I'd got another one down, I then checked and found out I'd already seen this 622 in 34 livery last autumn. Here it is calling at the east entrance with a 34C on 25.7.23

Here's a random bit of trivia pertaining to my photos:

The NCT photos only have the fleet number in the title, with no reference to NCT. This is thanks to me being mildly disorganised 10 years ago; when I originally sorted bus photos on my laptop back in 2012/13, I had lots of NCT compared to anything else and therefore sorted them into 'NCT' and 'other operators'.

The same then applied to when I started putting them on Flickr, with NCT being the default (only requiring fleet no. titles) and any other operator being specified. At first I didn't even have albums for the other operators, just one for NCT buses and another for non-NCT buses. Only later did I sort all TrentBarton, Nottingham Community Transport etc into their own albums, steadily followed by other companies as I saw more of them.

The time for going back and changing all the NCT photo titles has long passed, as I have over 4k of the things now! For purposes of uniformity and ease of organisation in the vehicle albums, most new NCT photos still only have the fleet number in the title (or fleet number and route if it's a spare or odd working). Any which do have NCT in the title are mainly group shots featuring other operators.

TL;DR - I didn't think of futureproofing photo organising in 2013, and now it's just like that (except sometimes when it isn't).

A lovely big mess, really.

To what extent can we prepare for the global shifts reshaping our world? How should we respond to digitalisation, urbanisation, resource scarcity and economic power shifts? Will futureproofing today make for a better tomorrow? The Megatrends session explored global macroeconomic and geostrategic forces that are shaping the region and our world in significant ways. It was recorded before a live audience who asked questions directly to the panelists, and was later transmitted for the EBRD podcast series. This panel aimed to expose the depth and complexity of these Megatrends which will require innovative and collaborative solutions at the local, national, regional and international levels. With the help of five well-known thought leaders, the session discussed the major trends, their drivers, opportunities and risks, as well as explored what actions might help to manage the waves of disruptive transitions.
