On April 13 next year, the International Horticulture Exposition 2017 will be opened in the Berlin borough of Marzahn-Hellersdorf. With the existing Gardens Of The World as centre, new garden areas are being created on former wasteland and on and around the Kienberg, an elevation of 102.2 metres height. On a dull autumn day I had the possibility to join a three hours' guided tour to the different building sites. With the exception of the Kienberg park that afterwards will be accessible for the public without entrance fee, all new gardens will be permanently integrated into the Gardens Of The World.

It's been so cold in Florida over the last week that even the Christmas trees turned blue.

The Himba are indigenous peoples of about 20,000 to 50,000 people living in northern Namibia, in the Kunene region (formerly Kaokoland) and on the other side of the Kunene River in Angola. There are also few groups left of the Ovatwa, which also belong to the Himba people, but are hunters and gatherers. Himba are mostly a semi-nomadic, pastoral people, closely related to the Herero, and speak Otjihimba, that is similar to the Herero language.

The Himba wear little clothing, but the women are famous for covering themselves with otjize, a mixture of butter fat and ochre, possibly to protect themselves from the sun. The mixture gives their skins a reddish tinge. This symbolizes earth's rich red color and the blood that symbolizes life, and is consistent with the Himba ideal of beauty.

The anti fracking campaign here in the u.k. Is a real concern not only to people living close to a fracking site, it will affect the whole of the u.k. If it all goes terribly wrong, shale gas extraction could have a catastrophic effect upon the environment - your environment.

So please don't dismiss these protestors as cranks they are but a growing section of the community who should be taken notice of.

Here's a shot from behind the front line of protestors.

It's been 18 years since the CN take over of the WC and this end of the Minneapolis Sub has gotten progressively quieter as time goes on. The coal trains and coke trains have gone away, the canning plant here no longer ships finished product by boxcar, and the nearby side track in Somerset no longer serves as a source of pulpwood loads. Contrary to how things have gone CN is now investing in the construction of a vehicle transload facility here just west of town. Just a couple weeks after the corn was harvested off this field construction is beginning on the Autoport. The projection is for this lot to unload 40 carloads of GM vehicles each day and 80 trucks will leave leave here onto nearby Highway 64. It remains to be seen if the added traffic will be handled by the local out of Chippewa Falls or L516/L517 on its way to-from Minneapolis. November 23, 2019.

The future is more than black.... :3

This one especially goes out to all my fellow young Zebras (those of us with rare conditions). Pretty much every young person wonders and perhaps dreams about their future; if they'll get married, who'll they'll marry, if they'll have kids, what they'll end up doing as a career... but for young Zebras, this can be especially scary. "Will anyone ever want to have to deal with me for their whole lives?" "Will I even be able to handle having kids, physically and mentally?" "Will I ever make it through Post Secondary?" The future is scary and unknown. Yes, it's important to take life one day at a time, but it's impossible not to wonder and sometimes worry.

My advice: if someone can't handle you - all of you - they're not meant to be with you. Of course it's going to be hard on both you and your partner, but the important thing is that both of you work together to face whatever life flings at you. Really, this goes for every relationship.

Zebra relationships just have to be extra resilient.

It's the month of May!! Do you know what that means?? It means that it's EDS awareness month!! And to celebrate/do my part, I'm going to *attempt* to take/publish a new picture every day for the next 31 days as a type of photojournalism project to illustrate concepts related to living with chronic illnesses. This is the 14th picture!

**What is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)? EDS is a rare genetic disorder that causes a person's collagen to be defective; collagen is the main component of connective tissue (the "glue" that holds our bodies together) that is the support for ligaments, muscles, skin, organs, joints, and blood vessels. In other words, people with EDS are living in a body that is literally falling apart. We suffer from numerous dislocations/subluxations every single day, skin that rips very easily, bleeding problems, extreme bruising... and SO much more. To learn more about it, please visit www.EDNF.org, or even just Google it!**

Élégie is a song ... of the breeze whispering at the shore of the sea, the waves lapping gently in the sand, the sounds of the long forgotten past and the dreams of the future, barely heard through a sea shell. In the distance, the pounding hooves of a silver horse break the near silence, and a beautiful and mysterious girl with teal hair rides past, faster than the wind. Did you see her? Or was she a dream?

Élégie is a gift for Natasja and April/April-L♥ves-Blythe. I felt sad when Natasja and April no longer had any Blythes due to family necessities .... so I offered to make them a girl as a gift. Natasja sent me a stock T42 ebl and this beautiful teal scalp by Piparrot, and I am creating Élégie for them. This is her very first preview, just her teal and pink airbrushed make-up with silver shimmers ... more details to come later in the week, as well as a romantic dress of the beautiful teal silk dupioni you see her resting on here. I hope you love her, Natasja and April! Merry Christmas!

Thank you for looking, and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! ♥

A future pro in the making!

Waiting for Spring....I have 20 bags of topsoil, a pile of bricks on the right, a pallet of ledge stone buried on the left. Just waiting until April....Now all I need is a big dose of Patience!! It's -14 degrees F. now..snow is over four feet deep. In April, we can build the new flower garden but we can't plant it until the end of May or we risk freezing of the plants. Let's see, that's only 5 more months.....dreaming.... and excercising faith! ;o)

Hebrews 11:1-3

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
