He was anchored to a kelp bed grooming his fur with other otters.

The fur is Cleo's and the mouse is Cleo's too. I took this photo for the Happy Caturday theme "Fur". Cleo was asleep and when she is sleeping I can put on her fur whatever I want as long as I don't touch her head or tail.:) Happy Caturday !
Grey seal pups are precocial, with mothers returning to sea to forage once pups are weaned. Pups also undergo a post-weaning fast before leaving land and learning to swim. Within a month or so they shed the pup fur, grow dense waterproof adult fur, and leave for the sea to learn to fish for themselves.

Choosing photos for this week has made me compare Bella's fur with Daisy's. Both, technically, tabby & white, though Daisy's white fur was very white & Bella's, also spotlessly clean, is more cream than white. Bella has coloured fur on her nose, while Daisy's face was mostly white with her cute beauty spot.

Das gesamte Gebiet des Hohwalds um den Valtenberg ist durch Blockfelder geprägt die während der Eiszeit durch Verwitterung des Gesteinsuntergrundes hervorgingen. Es handelt sich um Granodiorit, der in einer, für granitische Gesteine typischen, Wollsackform verwittert. Am Rande des großen Steinbruchs "Valtengrund" blieb die originelle Felsformation zum Glück erhalten, obwohl an ihr bereits Sprenglöcher angelegt worden waren. Den volkstümlichen Namen "Quarkquetsche" verdanken die Felsen ihrer rundlichen Form, "Goldmännchen" hingegen steht wohl auch mit dem in der Umgebung erfolgten Goldbergbau früherer Zeiten in Verbindung.
