80 images sliced in Photoshop.

More activity taking place on The Duke. The sound of hammers could be heard from the coast path and there are people on board and on the dock.

I vist this place nearly every Boxing Day, just to see if it has any more graffiti on it, it was a bitter cold morning with the harsh winter sun rising behind me, the rocks in the foreground have frost on them plus the ship does have a bit more graffiti on it too.

Just another shot of my husband's trip..taken by him....I thought I would like to share with you all a few of his photos from his 2 weeks away.

Today's 2 photos ( this photo and the one before ) are from him.....I told him he would have to open his own flickr account very soon..

....and BTW..he hardly took any photos ( 48 in total ) while he was away for 2 weeks....I can take more than that in one day..LOL

If I had gone I would bore you all to death with all the photos :=))) This is the original photo sized down and I framed this photo...he stays away from the computor..he he..

Taken last week, out with Sian, Martin & Mike. Great day out with glorious weather..

Duke of Lancaster (the Funship) at Llanerch y Mor, North Wales

Admiraliteitskade Rotterdam.

The old inner harbours are no longer used for the extensive activities of the Port of Rotterdam. They are for funships now.

TSS Duke of Lancaster is a former railway steamer passenger ship that operated in Europe from 1956 to 1979, and is currently beached near Mostyn Docks, on the River Dee, north-east Wales. It replaced an earlier 3,600-ton ship of the same name operated by the London Midland and Scottish Railway company between Heysham and Belfast.

There are some rules........when you arrive.....one at a time across the boarding plank, please.......That should do for rules......

As I will undoubtedly be the oldest.....I'm in charge of this party....that's not necessarily a good thing!!!!!....Game on!!!!

Warning!!!!! There will be an air guitar contest...... ;-)))

Well, i took this photo about three hours ago. I got home and literally could not wait to edit it as i have been dying to shoot this ship for aaaaaages.

The scale of it is simply phenomenal, and unbelievable that it's been left there to rot.

This is approx a 30-40 minute stack, using only natural light to expose the image.

The Duke of Lancaster was a ferry that used to sail the Irish Sea in the 1950's and 60's but was retired and dry docked in 1979. Renamed the 'Fun Ship' it was used as an entertainment venue before being closed and subsequently neglected. Its future is uncertain....

The TSS Duke of Lancaster was a railway steamer passenger ship until it went out of service in 1979. It has been languishing at Llannerch-y-Môr on the Dee estuary ever since as arguments continue over plans for its future use. I have included a second (clickable) image in the Comments below to show the ship in its wider context. A tow path (from which my images were taken) runs to the left of the ship, behind razor wire and a hedge. So near and yet so far. I would love to have been able to get closer and improve the composition of this image by getting that chain in the right place. However, it could have been worse. I settled for sunshine and a lovely sky. :)

The "Duke" sporting a fresh coat of paint, as you approach the ship you can still smell the new paint.

WE decided to go and see if there was any new urban art at "The Duke of Lancaster" which is moored near to where I live. I heard the owner had invited some European artists to come along and add their artwork. They obviously haven't arrived yet......
