Taken with my first digital camera. My son says he doesn't remember this trip, but he wants to go back.
On a trip to the Canadian maritime provinces. In between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. High of 17 metres in tide level - highest in the world! A peaceful time. Beautiful view and scene!!
This was took at the Fundy trails in St-Martins. This is a HDR version, the place is really impressive, huge cavern you can see at low tide.
I need to work on more photos from New Brunswick. This is a view looking northeast along the coast from the Fundy Trail, which is a long scenic drive near St. Martins. As the name of the trail suggests, this overlooks the Bay of Fundy.
On my, oh so short trip to Maine/New Brunswick/Nova Scotia in 2014. After spending a little time in Fundy National Park, New Brunswick, I took the scenic route (915) toward Hopewell Rocks, and this scene was the first I came upon. This is a pano combining 2 and 1/2 photos. I have another combing 6 that takes in the whole scene (or at least 100 degrees of it), but with the limitations of the computer screen, this one translates better . . . though who knows, I may upload the other one one day.
The Bay of Fundy is renowned as the location of the biggest tides in the world, with a change between high and low tides of between 36 and 46 feet (10-14 meters). Clearly, this was taken near low tide, near sunset. The rocks are, for the most part, a soft conglomerate (and some sandstone), and the tides are relatively quickly eroding it all away. Much of the water often appears reddish--I'm not certain why it doesn't here.
Grrrr! I accidentally uploaded the wrong photo! I need a keeper! Anyway, it's the same place, but this pano is a combination of 4 photos.

The Rocks Provincial Park, Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick, Canada
This is another shot from Hopewell Rocks at the top of the Bay of Fundy. The Bay of Fundy is well known for its big tides. At the start of the night we were walking around on the mud next to the rocks, but within a couple hours the tide had come in about 20 feet or so. We retreated to the staircase leading down to the rocks, where this photo was taken.
