Known as the iconic Vauxhall Nova in the UK this Corsa A is a staple of the Portuguese car scene. This example is in surprisingly mint condition despite sporting an unfortunate gash on the left fender.
On the dashboard you may have spotted some little colourful things, these are called Pirilampos Mágicos (magic fireflies) and are sold as part of a fundraising campaign for those with mental disabilities. As of 2012 these little dolls have raised over 16,5 million euros.

We have some very interesting guests, who are willing to donate their money for various projects, that need financial help.
The most impressive apperance yet is definately Mr. Ordo Skirata ! Mr. Skirata is known for his extrodinary collection of suits and his gallant behaviour and today he has given his best to make an impression. Mr. Skirata arrived in his new personal submarine right here on peer 21 ! And now we can see him coming down the ramp of his vehicle. Mr. Skirata , may I ask you some questions ?“
„Of course you can, my dear and call me Ordo, please.“
„Oh, well....Ordo...what an apperance, what a show ! Where in the world did you acquire a submarine ?“
„As you might know, I recently finished my new movie, which is about a team of deep sea scientists. The submarine was part of the props and I thought it would be nice to use it for promotional matters.“
„Ah, I see, well I think a lot of people are willing to watch that movie.“
„Oh, they always want to see my movies...“
„The role of a captain seems to fit you quite well.“
„Oh, no, I don’t think so. People always say that, but I’m not a good captain in any way.“
„Now, let me asky you the last question. To which project will you be donating money today. I mean, there were over 63 projects to choose from.“
„You won’t belive it, but I couldn’t narrow it down on any of them, so I decided to donate a bit of money to every project...“
„To every project !? That is quite generous ! – Ladies and Gentlemen, that was Mr. Ordo Skirata ! Thank you very much Ordo !“

Quite a difficulte MoC to start the year with. Originally it was planned to feature a bunch of lighting effects, but it ended up just having some LEDs in the building. The submarine was kind of a last minute idea, but it adds a funny element.

Critteraid undertakes a number of fundraising activities on an annual basis. Over the years, we have explored a variety of these fundraisers and we are very proud of our annual endeavours to raise funds for the animals in our care. On the 7th September I was lucky enough to get invited along to Little Princess Trust's Pink Car Rally.
It was the 1st day of the 6th annual pink car rally to raise money for real hair wigs for people with cancer.
All in all, it was a fantastic start to the rally, with day 1 starting at ESP Cars, Long Eaton (Derbyshire) and finishing up at Kingsmill Hospital, Sutton-in-Ashfield (Nottinghamshire)

Fridge magnets spell 'fundraising'. I created this at the fridge door wall at the Eden Project, Cornwall.
Promotional pens and a pencil from fundraising companies. Companies include Kingston Smith LLP, Blackbaud Europe, Fundraising Initiatives, Iris NFP, Future Fundraising (and its Fundraising Academy), and Everyclick.com.
On January 7th 2011, a fundraising event was organised at The Third Door (previously the famous Medina) to help the Forest Cafe, struggling financially, to keep open. It closed none less but reopened a few months later in a new location in Tolcross, and still is to this day.

I loved the Ramsey Canyon. The Nature Conservancy had done an exemplary job of preserving this precious resource.
The Nature Conservancy has several of these benches along Ramsey Creek. Looks like an effective way to help them fundraise for their conservation efforts.

Southeastern Arizona is an ecological crossroads, where the Sierra Madre of Mexico, the Rocky Mountains and the Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts all come together. The abrupt rise of mountains like the Huachucas from the surrounding arid grasslands creates “sky islands” that harbor tremendous habitat diversity and form stepping stones to the tropics. This combination of factors gives Ramsey Canyon Preserve its notable variety of plant and animal life, including such southwestern specialties as Apache and Chihuahua pines, ridge-nosed rattlesnake, lesser long-nosed bat, elegant trogon and Rivoli’s and Anna’s hummingbirds.
A spring-fed stream, northeast orientation and high canyon walls provide Ramsey Canyon with a moist, cool environment unusual in the desert Southwest. Water-loving plants such as sycamores, maples and columbines line the banks of Ramsey Creek, often growing within a few feet of cacti, yucca and agaves. Communities ranging from semi-desert grassland to pine-fir forest are found within the vicinity of Ramsey Canyon Preserve.
The preserve serves as a southeastern Arizona program office—a base for TNC’s work with regional partners on large-scale projects such as fire management, stream restoration and protection of rare species. Together, The Nature Conservancy and these partners achieve much greater success than any one entity working independently. Multiple partners also ensure a broader perspective and more enduring conservation solutions.

A gift to our local elementary school. A toilet paper roll holder on the back holds a strip of red felt that sticks to the Velcro on the white part of the thermometer. PTA did a great job painting it.
