One of the critic asked my friend UKTAMOY, why do you write poetry of love always and why don't you write poems against terrorists, fundamentalism and corrupt politicians. She said they will all die one day but love will remain forever.

Togakushi used to be a major centre of Shugendou (修験道) and/or Mountain Worship (山岳信仰) that is a syncretism of Buddhism and Shintoism. Kuzuryuu Ookami (九頭龍大神) or Nine-headed Dragon, which is the original god of Togakushi who brings rain and good harvest, had been worshipped along with Buddha. Kuzuryuu was believed to reside in the cave with rock door on the slope of the Togakushi mountains.
After the Meiji Restoration in 1868, the Meiji government biased toward narrow-minded nationalism and Shintou fundamentalism ordered the separation of Shintoism from Buddhism. Temples in Togakushi were ordered to become Shintou shrines; Buddhist statues were removed, and the gods related to the Amano Iwato myth that has a relevance to the imperial rule were newly enshrined.
In short, Togakushi was taken over by the Meiji government for the state control of Shintou. It is not a history to be praised.

Surrounded by beautiful, rolling countryside and famous for its lace, pottery and antiques, Honiton is a quiet, sleepy market town like so many others in Devon. - - Which is why it seems a strange place for a cafe founded by a staunchly religious community - known as the Twelve Tribes - who began life in the southern US state of Tennessee back in the 1970s.
But that is what the Yellow Deli, situated on the town's high street, is: one of the group's many cafes dotted around the world where, according to their website, they aim to 'pass on the love, joy, and peace spoken of in the New Testament'.
The Twelve Tribes, formerly known as the Vine Christian Community Church, the Northeast Kingdom Community Church, the Messianic Communities, and the Community Apostolic Order, is a new religious movement: founded by Gene Spriggs that sprang out of the Jesus movement in 1972 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The Twelve Tribes's beliefs resemble those of Christian fundamentalism, the Hebrew Roots movement, Messianic Judaism, and the Sacred Name Movement; however, the group believes that all other denominations are fallen, and it therefore refuses to align itself with any denomination or movement. The group has strict courtship rules, and their views on child rearing has been a source of controversy.
The group supports itself through the operation of several businesses, most of which revolve around agriculture, as well as cafés and restaurants, all using unpaid and often child labour.
Some governments and advocacy groups have labelled the group a cult.

“Hell is coming / World ends today”, was a situationist play for the inner city of Madrid by Andreas Templin in the framework of Madrid Abierto 2008. It had a duration of one week (7th-15th of February 2008). In that play, "hatred / fundamentalism“ was represented by a re-enactment of fanatic right-wing demonstrations. This was staged by a doppelganger of a preacher standing around at various streetcorners of Madrid.
I took this photo in 2008 and re-edited it now. I found it passing my Canon Irista photos to another cloud storage service. It seemed to me to be current again. The coronavirus pandemic has unleashed a dangerous plague of doomsday predictions.

Lima, Peru - 23 May 2025:
In a landmark development for international justice, the Republic of Peru has formally opened a criminal investigation against an Israeli national accused of participating in the genocide in Gaza, following a legal complaint submitted by the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF).
The complaint was filed by Julio César Arbizu González (b. 1974), a prominent Peruvian human rights lawyer and legal counsel to the Foundation.
The individual under investigation served as a combat engineering soldier in the Israeli military and is alleged to have played a direct role in the methodical and systematic destruction of civilian neighbourhoods in the Gaza Strip during the 2023–2024 military offensive.
The complaint, supported by audiovisual documentation and open-source intelligence, accuses the soldier of engaging in actions that constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide.
This step by Peruvian authorities is of immense significance in the global pursuit of justice. It is not only an affirmation of Peru’s adherence to the principles of international humanitarian and criminal law, but also a decisive recognition that universal jurisdiction must be exercised—not merely acknowledged—when those responsible for international crimes are found within a state’s territory.
Crucially, this case highlights the central role played by the Combat Engineering Corps of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the implementation of Israel’s genocidal campaign against the Palestinian population of Gaza. Far from being a support unit, the Engineering Corps has acted as a core operational arm of destruction, systematically reducing civilian areas to rubble, erasing entire communities, and rendering large swathes of Gaza uninhabitable. This unit, through its actions, has become one of the primary mechanisms of the genocidal machine.
In response, the Hind Rajab Foundation has undertaken a comprehensive legal offensive targeting this formation. To date, the Foundation has prepared hundreds of individual case files against members of the Combat Engineering Corps. These cases are being progressively submitted before competent national jurisdictions in countries across multiple continents, with more filings to follow in the weeks and months ahead.
The opening of this investigation in Peru demonstrates that the HRF’s legal actions against travelling Israeli soldiers are not symbolic gestures—they yield tangible legal consequences. It is a powerful precedent, affirming that no perpetrator of atrocity crimes should feel shielded by distance or diplomatic complacency.
The Hind Rajab Foundation calls upon all states—particularly those that are parties to the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute—to follow Peru’s example by initiating proceedings against individuals implicated in the Gaza genocide who may enter their jurisdictions.
“Justice is not optional. Justice is imperative,” said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), Chairman of the Hind Rajab Foundation. “This investigation marks a decisive step in the dismantling of Israeli impunity" he added.
The Hind Rajab Foundation will continue to pursue all responsible individuals—wherever they are, and for as long as it takes—because only justice can lay the foundation for lasting peace and human dignity in Palestine and beyond.

Brussels, 28 June 2025 - On 8 February 2025, the Hind Rajab Foundation submitted a formal complaint to the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Brigadier General Yehuda Vach. Today, the Foundation has formally updated the case with new evidence and legal analysis, transmitting a detailed annex to the ICC and expanding its requests for prosecution.
Yehuda Vach is not merely another Israeli military officer. He is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s most loyal and lethal asset in Gaza—the man entrusted to carry out the will of a government that has embraced openly genocidal policies against the Palestinian people.
The initial filing of the HRF focused on Vach’s command responsibility in the establishment and enforcement of an unlawful “kill zone” in the Netzarim Corridor, Gaza. This zone was characterized by the deliberate targeting of civilians—particularly children—by sniper teams and mobile armored patrols operating with impunity under Vach’s orders.
The complaint was based on powers of attorney obtained from the families of two Palestinian children who were summarily executed by Vach’s troops. The evidence included geolocated video footage, survivor testimonies, intercepted communications, and corroborated patterns of conduct by the division under his control.
Since the submission of this complaint, the Foundation has gathered substantial new evidence establishing Brigadier General Vach’s direct and indirect responsibility for a series of additional atrocities, including:
* The demolition of the Turkish–Palestinian Friendship Hospital on 21 March 2025, constituting a serious violation of Article 8(2)(b)(ix) of the Rome Statute.
* The Rafah paramedic massacre on 23 March 2025, during which IDF forces under Vach’s command executed 15 humanitarian personnel, including members of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, United Nations staff, and civil defense medics—clear violations of the protections afforded under international law to humanitarian actors.
* The systematic killing of civilians at humanitarian aid distribution points in May and June 2025, where hundreds of Palestinians were fatally shot while queuing for food. Testimonies from IDF personnel and open-source video documentation demonstrate that these attacks were not the result of battlefield confusion, but the product of operational orders to treat civilians in these zones as combatants.
Together, these actions form a consistent pattern of conduct, substantiating Brig. Gen. Vach’s role as a central operational architect of the Gaza campaign’s most serious violations of the laws of war. His directives—widely quoted among troops as asserting that “there are no innocents in Gaza”—reflect not merely criminal dereliction but active participation in a policy of collective punishment and extermination.
It must also be emphasized that Brig. Gen. Vach has operated with the full political protection of Israel’s civilian leadership. His actions align directly with the strategic objectives and rhetoric of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (b. 1949), and his field role in implementing such policy renders him Netanyahu’s primary enforcer of state criminality in Gaza.
And he is not acting alone. His brothers, Colonel Golan Vach and Captain Elishav Vach, are also deeply implicated in war crimes and abuses. The three brothers form a militarized faction operating with political protection from Netanyahu’s office. Together, they have built what human rights observers now call Israel’s “first family of genocide.”
Legal Implications and Call to Action
In light of the cumulative and expanding body of evidence, the Hind Rajab Foundation today submitted an updated annex to its complaint and formally called on the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC to:
1. Initiate the necessary procedures for the issuance of arrest warrants against Brigadier General Yehuda Vach, Colonel Golan Vach, and Captain Elishav Vach, in accordance with Articles 58 and 25 of the Rome Statute.
2. Recognize these individuals as central figures in the field implementation of a broader state-sponsored policy of systematic and widespread attacks against the civilian population of Gaza, as defined under Article 7 of the Rome Statute.
3. Consider their actions within the framework of genocidal intent, pursuant to Article 6 of the Rome Statute and customary international law.

Brussels, 26 June 2025 - The Hind Rajab Foundation expresses deep concern over the confirmed presence of Colonel Moshe Tetro, former head of the Coordination and Liaison Administration (CLA) for the Gaza Strip, in the EUCOM building on Rue de la Loi in Brussels, where he is currently serving as Israel’s military attaché to Belgium. Tetro is one of the architects of Gaza’s starvation and hospital assaults.
Colonel Tetro is the subject of a detailed complaint submitted by our Foundation to the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC). He is accused of individual criminal responsibility for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, under Articles 6, 7, and 8 of the Rome Statute.
As head of the CLA, Colonel Tetro played a central role in implementing policies that:
* Systematically deprived the civilian population of Gaza of access to food, water, fuel, and medical supplies, contributing directly to a man-made famine now classified as catastrophic by multiple UN agencies;
* Facilitated and coordinated military attacks on medical facilities, including Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis and Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, in violation of the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocol I.
These actions fall within the same factual and legal context outlined in the ICC arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, particularly with respect to the weaponization of starvation and attacks on protected civilian infrastructure.
Despite this, Colonel Tetro is currently enjoying diplomatic immunity as part of his official assignment in Belgium. This raises serious concerns regarding Belgium’s adherence to its obligations under international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and customary international law related to non-cooperation with individuals accused of core international crimes.
Moreover, this development must be viewed in conjunction with recent reports confirming that Belgium has allowed the transfer of F-35 fighter jet parts to Israel via Liège Airport, thereby facilitating Israel’s continued use of military force against the civilian population in Gaza. These actions, taken together, significantly aggravate the legal and moral responsibility of the current Belgian government, which risks complicity in the commission of international crimes.
In light of the above, the Hind Rajab Foundation reiterates its formal demands:
1. That the International Criminal Court issue an arrest warrant for Colonel Moshe Tetro, in line with its current jurisprudence and mandate under the Rome Statute;
2. That the Government of Belgium immediately revoke Colonel Tetro’s diplomatic accreditation and declare him persona non grata, pursuant to Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
Failure to act decisively in this matter would not only constitute a breach of Belgium’s international obligations, but would also place the Belgian state in the position of harbouring an individual credibly accused of genocide and war crimes.
History will judge the choices made today. Continued political protection for individuals implicated in mass atrocity crimes risks permanently associating the Belgian state with one of the gravest humanitarian crises of the 21st century.
We urge Belgian authorities, European institutions, and civil society to act in accordance with international law and to uphold the principles of justice, accountability, and human dignity.

Lima, Peru, 11 June 2025 - The Republic of Peru has formally assigned the genocide case filed by the HRF against an Israeli soldier to its Human Rights Prosecutor’s Office, transitioning the case from jurisdictional review to the preliminary investigative phase.
This procedural step confirms that the Peruvian Public Ministry is now examining the evidence submitted, rather than assessing whether it has the authority to proceed. In practical terms, the case has entered the early stages of criminal investigation, under the framework of Peru’s obligations under the Rome Statute and international humanitarian law.
The complaint—submitted by human rights lawyer Julio César Arbizu González on behalf of the Hind Rajab Foundation—concerns the actions of a combat engineering soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces. The individual is alleged to have taken part in the destruction of civilian neighborhoods and infrastructure in Gaza, as part of broader military operations conducted by the Combat Engineering Corps, a unit repeatedly linked to mass demolitions and targeted attacks on protected civilian objects.

The Hague, 10 June 2025 – The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has officially filed a legal complaint with the Dutch Public Prosecution Service against Lavi Lazarovitz, a serving Major in the Israeli Air Force (IAF), who is currently in the Netherlands as part of the "CyberArk World Tour" organized by the Israeli cybersecurity firm CyberArk.
While azarovitz appears publicly in the Netherlands as a tech executive, he is also an active-duty officer in the Israeli Air Force IAF—a military branch that played a central and devastating role in the recent genocide committed against the Palestinian population of Gaza.
Lazarovitz appeared in uniform in a CyberArk promotional video filmed during the peak of the Israeli bombardment of Gaza. The video was shot from HaKirya, the military headquarters of the Israeli army in Tel Aviv, a key command center for Israel’s aerial warfare operations. His presence in uniform at such a site during a period of systematic and large-scale murderous bombardment, implicates him directly with IAF activities and warrants a serious investigation.
The Israeli Air Force’s Role in the Gaza Genocide
According to reports by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the United Nations, and other reputable sources, the Israeli Air Force was directly responsible for:
* The mass bombing of residential areas, killing entire families in their homes;
* Targeting hospitals, schools, refugee camps, and United Nations facilities;
* Systematic attacks on humanitarian workers, medical convoys, and evacuees;
* Destruction of vital civilian infrastructure, contributing to the collapse of Gaza’s health system and mass displacement.
These actions are widely considered violations of international humanitarian law, and numerous legal experts and UN bodies have raised alarms over the potential commission of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide.
Why Should Lazarovitz Be Held and Interrogated
As an officer in the IAF, Lavi Lazarovitz is not a neutral civilian participant in global tech events. His rank, the timing of his public appearances in uniform, and the context of his presence in military command structures during the genocide, establish reasonable grounds to believe that he may have:
* Participated in or supported aerial military operations;
* Provided technical or operational assistance from within the IAF;
* Held command responsibility or acted in coordination with units involved in the bombing campaign.

Brussels / London, 9 June 2025 — The Hind Rajab Foundation has formally filed a war crimes complaint with the Metropolitan Police War Crimes Unit (Counter Terrorism Command, SO15) concerning the Israeli naval raid on the British-flagged humanitarian vessel Madleen, which took place in international waters on 8–9 June 2025. The complaint targets the Shayetet 13 unit that executed the attack and Vice Admiral David Saar Salama (b. 1969) who is the commander in chief of the Israeli Navy.
The Madleen, sailing as part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, was carrying medical supplies, food, and baby formula to civilians in Gaza. The ship, legally considered an extension of UK territory, was over 60 nautical miles off the coast when it was intercepted and boarded by Israel's elite Shayetet 13 naval commandos. Shayetet 13 operates under the Israeli Navy, commanded by Vice Admiral David Saar Salama (b. 1969), and is known for its maritime interdiction operations.

The complaint, submitted on behalf of the Foundation by attorney Elena Lazăr, has been referred to the Military Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Military Court of Appeal for further examination.
The legal action concerns Benyaish’s alleged involvement in the intentional destruction of civilian property during Israel’s military operations in Gaza, including the demolition of the homes in the Nuseirat camp on 12 November 2024. Today, the Hind Rajab Foundation, through its legal representative, has filed a criminal complaint before the Romanian Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice against Orel Benyaish, an Israeli soldier from the 432nd Battalion of the Givati Brigade. He is accused of committing war crimes and acts of genocide during Israel’s ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The evidence submitted includes images and videos posted by Benyaish himself, showing his direct involvement in the destruction of residential buildings in the Netzarim corridor—a heavily targeted area where thousands of Palestinian civilians were forcibly displaced. He appears in uniform, smiling in front of homes rigged with explosives. In these same images is fellow soldier Yuval Vagdani, also of the Givati Brigade, who was photographed in the moment explosives were being placed for a controlled demolition. The two acted together, knowingly and deliberately, in destroying civilian homes without any military justification.
This is not a matter of battlefield tragedy. It is the calculated and boastful destruction of civilian life, carried out with impunity and celebrated in social media posts. The detonation, which reduced entire homes to rubble, is not only a war crime under international humanitarian law—it is an expression of genocidal intent. These actions were not part of legitimate combat. They were designed to humiliate, terrorize, and annihilate a people, in flagrant violation of the Geneva Conventions, the Rome Statute, and the most fundamental norms of human dignity.
Last December in Brazil, a judge issued a probe order against Yuval Vagdani for his role in this same crime. The Romanian complaint is therefore not isolated, but part of a broader international legal effort to end the impunity of soldiers who participate in the collective punishment and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population.
Romania, as a party to the Rome Statute and the Geneva Conventions, bears not only the legal competence but the moral obligation to act. When war criminals walk freely on foreign soil, justice demands intervention. The principle of universal jurisdiction exists precisely for such moments—when those responsible for atrocities are beyond the reach of justice in their own countries.
The international community has long borne witness to the structural impunity enjoyed by Israeli military personnel. This impunity has emboldened perpetrators to commit unspeakable crimes—openly, proudly, and without fear of consequence. It is time for this cycle to end.
We call on Romanian authorities to take urgent action: to launch a full criminal investigation, to prevent the suspect from leaving the country, to secure all relevant digital and physical evidence, and to cooperate with other jurisdictions pursuing related cases. Anything less would be a betrayal of the legal and ethical commitments that bind all nations in the defense of humanity.
Justice must not remain hostage to political considerations.
When the machinery of state is used to carry out acts of ethnic destruction, it falls on all people of conscience, and all states of law, to say: not in our name.

Turkey has ordered the re-conversion of Istanbul’s Chora (Kariye) church, which has served as a museum since 1945, into a mosque and opened it to worship, according to a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on Friday.
The decree stated that the site has been transferred to the administration of the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) and will be opened for Muslim worship.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan want to reconvert the historic Chora church, one of Istanbul’s most celebrated Byzantine buildings, into a mosque, a month after opening the famed Hagia Sophia to Muslim worship. The medieval Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora, built near the ancient city walls of Constantinople, contains 14th century Byzantine mosaics and frescoes showing scenes from biblical stories.
Located in Istanbul’s Fatih district, the Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora was constructed as part of a monastery complex in the fourth century during the Byzantine era.
The transformation of Christian Churches into Mosques at this time of great ideological conflicts may trigger movements that will want to transform Mosques into Churches in Western Europe.
Unfortunately, fundamentalism exists and has always existed throughout human history, but it seems that some politics try at all costs to wave the flags of religious extremism with markedly political objectives, which does not interest humanity or the design of God!
In a dehumanized society in which violence and hatred are the new holy books, we cannot expect more than division, hatred and violence but also human suffering !
The least that was asked of Turkey was religious respect and tolerance and not a systematic attack on secular Christian heritage.
What would Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan think if in Western Europe we transformed mosques into Christian churches?

- A documentary I recommend you all should see about the kind of torture the Israelis have been deploying against Palestinians in their prisons for decades and decades - from the perspective of the women of the resistance. I especially want to highlight this little snippet from the testimony of PFLP member Rasmea Odeh (b. 1948), who was sentenced for life and spent 10 years in prison:
«The whole interrogation was difficult, I can remember several things that were difficult, but if I were to choose, the moment they brought my father into the interrogation room while I was naked and they tried to force him to sleep with me during the interrogation: This was one of the worst moments…
Another instance was when they were interrogating a young man - there was no relation between us - by the name of Qasem Abu Aker, but they brought me in naked while they were torturing him using electric shock. He became a martyr while I was in the same room with him.
They stripped me and displayed me in front of the young men to force them to speak - they tied me up, my legs and arms while I was completely naked; however I did not feel like some strangers are looking at me, or what is happening.
I really wanted to be strong, but with the incident with my father, when they brought him in while I was naked - That was horrible… very horrible.
Even though I was stripped naked and tortured in front of the others; in front of my father the situation hit me at a different level. I was worried about my father, this was a very sensitive issue. I was worried he would die from this incident, as though something major inside him was destroyed.
This increases my hatred against those who were responsible.
Why?

Once content to live their lives as sisters, wives and mothers, each of the women became active members in the national fight for Palestinian independence, though their ‘crimes’ differed markedly - one woman was detained in a peaceful protest while another was arrested for her participation in a bombing. Their painful recollections provide a fascinating personal perspective on their motives for political involvement, reveal their struggles in prison and define the difficulties they have faced and continue to face adjusting to life in Palestinian society.

Here's the ceiling of The Getty. I went to Los Angeles about 10 months ago to visit my friend Lindsey Best and also managed to see two different Robert Mapplethorpe exhibits with only a small fraction of overlap. I had just finished Patti Smith's autobiography entitled Just Kids before flying out for the visit.
I have to be honest, Robert Mapplethorpe's doesn't completely reach me...not even as an artist but as a woman. I don't think he really understood women at all aside from Patti Smith. Even Mapplethorpe's photos of Lisa Lyon seem cold to me on an emotional level.
But, at the same time, reading about what he went through as an artist who was gay in the 1960-1980s and the threats of pure censorship were really eye opening. Today, with all the threats against trans students and to Gavin's Law, it seems history is indeed repeating itself.
And, though I am not really one to want to view explicit photographs showing bondage, I still want to live in a world where artistic expression is possible and not censored by politics or fundamentalism. I also strongly believe that one should expose oneself to challenging art that doesn't feel good, happy, or safe but questions the very notion of identity. Who are we really as people? If we can't answer this question, we truly have no hope of resisting fascism.
