Sunday morning in this photo taken in October 2012 in the city of Surabaya exactly in the Heroes Monument is where the start and finish commencement funbike or cycling to celebrate the birthday of East Java 67th year. This photo was taken by my husband because if you use a tripod where highly unlikely because of the many participants spilling into several highways.
With Held cycling or Funbike many people who want to participate in the anniversary enliven East Java province to the 67th this year. Participants ranging from children to adults from across the province of East Java to the outer islands. Various models of bikes ranging from old-fashioned model of bike to bike model output for even bike hand made models.
Me and my husband did not want to miss this moment because in addition to want to know also the atmosphere in the city of Surabaya. Type of bike that I use Tandom models (double scull). Starting the night I was preparing the equipment needed is not another camera.
At 4:00 am in the morning I and my husband had already left because the distance between the home and destination about 15 km for the prescribed schedule beginning at 6:00 am start time. To place a lot of goals are more or less involved thousands of participants with an assortment of gifts, as well as stage entertainment with local artists singers.
The route taken by approximately 20-25 km around the city just around Surabaya alone.

I took this photo at the location at waspada street surabaya east java, when joined funbike to celebrate the birthday of East Java 2012 which was held in Surabaya hero monument. While crossing at waspada street I stop the bike because there is something unique from the many old buildings lining the historic legacy of the Dutch colonial era.

Not fast or strong by any means (17hp), acceleration was a disaster, but boy, what a funbike it was.
Unstoppable in moderate terrain, and a wheelie king, because it was so easy with this machine.
I had to take a car-ferry twice a day going to the office, and there was a captain sometimes, who sounded the horn very shortly, when he opened one of the two barriers (he remained the other one closed to make it safer for me).
That was my signal to leave the ferry with a wheelie and slam up the dike climbing to the top on one wheel, because he once requested me to do so, when he was on duty giving this signal.
No idea why he liked it so much, but I always did it when those signals were given (barrier & horn).
But that was in the nineties.
I don't know how it is in your country, but here in the Netherlands, if the police see you do it now, you lose your drivers licence on the spot.
So stay vigilant, and keep your eyes open . .
Built by an obviously very talented private person (toolmaker) 30 years ago. I got it almost unridden a year ago with equipped wih a Campagnolo 50th anniversary group ( www.flickr.com/photos/33588433@N04/7514642998/in/photostream ) and decided to save the group and build the bike aero style:

The very short wheel base is noticeable in every turn - the bike's eager for winding roads. A true funbike which I tried to express through the fresh colours of bar tape and saddle too. Pretty sure that I'll like to ride it

Přátelé,
po zážitku s kategorií funbike jsem se rozhodl o vyzkoušení dalšího stroje
podobného ražení. Nejprve bych ale krátce pohovořil o možnosti vypůjčení
stroje. Vyzkoušel jsem zatím 2 dealery (A-Spirit a Marimoto) a byl jsem se
informovat i v Suzuki. Mimochodem peronál nově otevřené pobočky va Vrbově
ulici mi přišel moc příjemný. Majitelům Zuzan doporučuji vyzkoušet, trochu
jiný přístup, než na Hájích. (že jo Kubajs?)
Prakticky je to všude stejné, chtějí jistinu pro případ odcizení, nebo
bouračky a to 10% (spoluúčast). U A-Spirit a Marimota je příjemné, že tam
můžete nechat např skůtr, nebo auto a nemusíte vozit peníze. U Suzuki na
bankovkách trvají. V A-Spirit půjčují pouze v úterý, ale motorku vám půjčí
prakticky na celý den. Yamaha půjčuje na 3 hodiny. Každopádně doporučuji
vyzkoušet, je to prima svézt se také na něčem jiném.
No a teď k našin pokusným králíkům.
K testovanému XT. Je jako beránek, brzdy výborné, podvozek trochu měký. Svým
založením to bude spíše pro opravdovější motárdisty, než pro takového páprdu
jako jsem já. Ikdyž na to mi zase přišlo, že moc nejede. Převody jsou dost
krátké, takže člověk pořád řadí. Já vím, jsem na jednobuchu, ale i tak.
Skrátka a dobře, asi by s ní byla i sranda, ale určitě ne takhle napoprvé.
Strada. měl jsem půjčenou verzi Factory, lišící se od normální verze
drátěnými koly, širšími řidítky, ale hlavně. Diagonálně připevněném
radiálním brzdiči (holt Italové). Ten pochází z SXV a brzdí náramně. Moc
jsem si jí tentokrát nevyzkoušel. Po příjezdu se jí chopila Lucie a vrátila
mi jí až kousek od domova. Takže moje poněkud hysterické líčení z Kořenova
platí a přidal bych ještě možnost použití jako klidného vozítka pro
začátečníky.
Test bych tedy uzavřel jednoznačně v prospěch Strady, ale je to subjektivní,
kdo chce motarda, sáhl by asi po XT. Kdo chce motorku pro partnerku s tím,
že si na ní občas užije i sám, Strada je jasná volba.
