DDC-Fun At Work

While I was shoveling Shizandra's run she was busy bringing me the ball so I could throw it for her to chase. We did that for about 30 minutes then came inside. She was having a great time making mom work!

Here is my submission for the Good Panda Flickr Contest Challenge during the downtime this week. :)

My little panda had an adventure at work with me on May 22nd! He was helping me set up urine cultures.

As a disclaimer regarding HIPPA, that is my own urine in the cup. (Yes, the lengths I go for photography sometimes.) I did not use a patient's urine. I also gave it a fake label "Jane Doe" with a creative birthday.

Rules: On May 22, during actual downtime, print and cut out the image that will appear on teh homepage at flickr.com, and take your photo of the little panda on an adventure somewhere. When the site's back up, upload your photo to Flickr, tag it with #goodpandacontest and add it to the Good Panda Photo Contest group.

DDC-Fun At Work

She always has fun but works so hard to get the ball each time.

dearest friends :) work in progress pic...

this is a photo taken the moment I discovered Big John, a regular at Ouest, sneakily snapping photos of other staff members and me......

I will be spending more time at work this weekend than usual, doing a double tomorrow....I'm learning to take things as they happen...and trying not to control so much....

Have you ever noticed that a "control freak's" natural companions are "anger" and "frustration"?

that's because life and people cannot be controlled....not through money, manipulation, coercion....in the long run, people do what they need to do and what they want to do...and the weather is what the weather will be....so the control freak will forever be disappointed, since things will never go exactly their way....

As I "let go and let God", I find that things actually do go more the way I want and maybe, more so, the way they should....

As a critical worker for the Government of Canada i have been at work since the Government had told people to stay at home. My poor hands are do raw from using hand sanitizer all day long at work. I found i was starting to smell like it so I made a new label for my bottle on my desk renaming it Eau de 2020. One has to still keep a sense of humour during these trying times of a global pandemic.

Something off the wall and odd from work. A relatively straight scan from the negative produced during photographing a passport image. Tried to do a transfer with it, didn't work. So dried it and scanned it as was. Then destroyed it completely soaking it in bleach. Had to try. Doesn't work so well it seems with FP-100C. Might have done it wrong though, too.

I don't like to feel like I am doing the same things over and over. When it comes to the imagery I make, I get uncomfortable with familiarity. I like to explore. I once read a great quote by Stephen King which I can only paraphrase, in which he mused that we cannot imagine something we have never experienced. Everything our imaginations cook up is a product of our experiences. It is not possible to imagine something completely alien to you. I see the wisdom in this observation. The more we experience, the more our imaginations have to play with in creating new thoughts and ideas.

Therefore, I get uncomfortable working with photography that is too familiar for too long.

Kris's birthday was the week after mine, and she took most of the week off of work. She likes to decorate my desk when I leave the office for a few days, so this was my turn to get her back :)

Purchased from a market in Adelaide. On the rear it states "self in G&R Wills 1917". G&R Wills was a general department store in Adelaide.

when you have as much fun doing menial tasks at work as i do, it is difficult to relay that kind of childlike joy, but i believe i managed to in this set of pictures

The May edition of Friday Social in Bangalore was one of the biggest, whackiest, and buzziest Social we have hosted so far. The theme for the month was Comic-Con, and it was wonderful to celebrate our superheroes, aka our team members. From a specially crafted superheroes menu to target practice game to save the planet, we had it all! There was also a special desk for team members to test their superpowers.

Someone asked me over the Xmas break : 'What do you love about your job?' It's a simple question and an easy answer : 'I get to do something different everyday, all day.' Seriously, how often do you come to work after a long holiday to find the combination of items listed above in the notes? Stellar.
