Sometimes you don't have to spend a lot of money to have fun with your kids. The snowfall on Friday and Saturday created a perfect opportunity for parents to bring their children to enjoy the snow
When I was at QE Park, many kids were sliding their sleds. The smile on each child's face made me feel so pleased. I took quite a lot of photos there but I love this one the most. Both the father and the son really enjoyed themselves together. Even though the snow brought a lot of problems in Vancouver, many people still make the most out of it before it is over.
Location: Vancouver, BC (Queen Elizabeth Park)

On Monday, Color War broke out. The white team was Spiderman and the blue team was Superman. The rest of the week was filled with fun and friendly Color War competition. The children loved seeing which team would win each event. Most competitions at The Willows ended in a tie. One of our favorite activities included digging for gummy worms in chocolate pudding using only their mouths. Another fun activity was a water balloon toss. The children really had a great time.
On Tuesday we had a wonderful show by “Puppets Pizzazz,” and the children thoroughly enjoyed this production. The Willows campers fun continued on Wednesday as we celebrated our theme, “Slumber Party” where the campers wore their pajamas to camp and enjoyed homemade delicious plain and chocolate chip pancakes. In Camper Creations, they also stuffed lions, bears, rabbits and cats. They couldn’t wait to take them home. To conclude our celebration, Uncle Rob from Tennis visited the Tadpoles and Minnows and read aloud “If you give a Mouse a Cookie.” The children were mesmerized. The pillowcases will be saved
for the 8th week of camp for a special Camper Creation project.
In Ceramics, The Willows made flip flops out of clay. We hope you enjoyed their ceramic hand and foot prints. All the clay projects will be sent home by the end of camp. The children also continued to advance their skills in all of our sports activities including swimming, t-ball, soccer, and tennis, just to name a few. On Friday, our wonderful week concluded with an all camp cookout and entertainment by A-Sharp Productions. The children really know how to dance.

We can’t believe that four wonderful weeks have flown by. It was very exciting to have all of our Willows family members join us for our visiting day. We hope you had as much fun as we did.
While the temperature outside continued to rise, so did the fun and excitement. All the children had plenty of water breaks and extra time swimming to keep cool. Even the threat of rain didn’t dampen our spirits. We had the opportunity to have an extra special snack of sandwich cookies decorated with icing and jimmies.
This week’s theme was “Finding Nemo,” and the Tadpoles and Minnows created CD fish door hangers in Camper Creations. At Ceramics, the campers enjoyed painting their clay hands and feet. All your children’s projects will be sent home shortly. On Wednesday, in preparation for Waterworld and to honor our weekly theme of “Finding Nemo,” many of our Tadpoles and Minnows attempted the giant water slide and loved it.
To end our wonderful week, The Willows campers joined the rest of camp at Waterworld. The children drove water boats and joined in other great water activities. A terrific time was had by all!
We are looking forward to the next four weeks with your children. As a reminder, please remember to label all items brought to camp and wear yellow as much as possible.

We’ve completed our fifth week of camp as the fun and excitement continues. The smiles on the children’s faces are really fantastic! Every camper has developed some new and wonderful friendships that we hope will continue throughout the years to come.
This week’s theme was “Ride ‘m Cowboy.” To celebrate this theme, the children created fabulous western photo frames to showcase their ability to ride their favorite pony “Billy.” In Ceramics, the Tadpoles and Minnows had fun painting their ceramic balloons.
Our woodcraft project was special pencil boxes decoupage with images from camp. On Thursday, The Willows joined in the fun of “Trick or Treat for Summer Sweets” by dressing up in their favorite Halloween costumes and parading around camp.

Wow!! We have completed our fifth week of camp. Even though it was extremely hot, the campers had plenty of water breaks and extended swim periods. This week’s theme was “Everything Yellow.” On Wednesday to celebrate our theme, and the Big Camps theme of “The Sun Always Shines at Willow Grove, many of the children wore yellow to camp. The best part of this week was when The Willows performed for the Big Camp the “Pledge of
Allegiance” and sang a very special song created by Emily from Puppet Theater. The new Willows Song is sung to the tune of “I’m a Little Teapot.”
In Camper Creations, the children made Minion picture frames that
featured the children enjoying Waterworld or swimming. In Ceramics, the
Willows painted their clay flip flops the colors of the sun: yellow, orange and
red. All your children’s creations will be coming home in the next couple of
weeks.
