SANTA PAULI MARKET in the REEPERBAHN
we're going to the naughty german SANTA PAULI MARKET Christmas fair in HAMBURG's red light district, the REEPERBAHN.......the fair is a 'spoof' of the numerous Christmas fairs in Germany...
there are lots of silly naughty items for sale...including Marzipan candy shaped like a penis....my mom said, she doesn't want one, 'soft penises are no good'.
----------------------------------
the naughty section is a tad smaller now ....at least the bump and grinding part...it is now closed off...with no women allowed and no photos...so, why should i bother...lol
.the larger street is just a regular street...though there were lots of 'hourly' Hotels and one could see Folks in their windows up high. not that i looked...
...the fair was fun, very very tame...yes, a tad snore zzzzzzzzzz. well, after one has been to all folsom street fairs like i have for so many years...maybe i-m a tad jaded...
i did see the Lady who was in the newspaper who was selling naughty shaped candies.....she looked great and had a great smile. i told her so. 'thanks, i haven't seen my photo in the paper. How did the chocolate penis-pops look? They are SO hard to photograph..', said the 71 year old seller...ohmygawd....lol
Late Christmas present from one of my nephews picked it up yesterday ...she is supposed to wave in the sunlight.....today she hasn't moved
I'll tell you what...
Funerals are not always fun, nor should they be. You mourn the loss of someone you care for because letting go of them is difficult and it represents the strength of the love you had for them. That said... James was the King Daddy of fun and strove to preserve fun in all of its forms. If James was at his own funeral he would definitely FUN IT UP!
The urban dictionary (convieniently) describes a FUN PIG as a pig for fun. An individual who makes a pig of himself (or herself) in the consumption of fun. Also - an enforcer of fun. An agent of fun that protects and serves the interests of fun.
My friends and I are all fun pigs and to properly say goodbye to the greatest fun pig I knew, we totally ramped up the fun in James' honor.
After the services in Staten Island we met up at Rothmann's Steakhouse here in Manhattan where Denis O'Connor, the restaurant's super cool chef insisted that we remember James in the most fun way you can on a friday night in Midtown... eatin', drinkin' and enjoying the company of good friends.
After Rothmann's, we headed back to Brett and Emily's place for some Rock Band and Venture Bros till the early morning.
It's OK to laugh again and long live the fun!
UPDATE: I've just launched a brand spanking new Flickr Group called FUN PIGS in honor of this moment and Fun people everywhere. So join the group and start posting your fun pix!

Test shot with Nikon D4 + Nikon AF DC-Nikkor 135mm f/2D. The primary goal was to test the sharpness of the older 130/2 lens with the 16MP sensor in the D4.
At a distance of 1m, the DoF with this lens at f/2 is only 5.7mm, much less than even some of the famous shallow DoF lenses such as the Nikkor 85/1.4G, Nikkor NOCT 58/1.2, or even Leica Noctilux 50/0.95. At a distance of 3m (~10 feet), the DoF increases to 5.7cm or 2.25 inches.
So it is easy to see large areas of the image apparently OOF, but the reality is, sharpness is highly contained to the area of focus, unless the lens is stopped down.
For anyone interested in the image quality from this camera/lens, I have uploaded the full 16.2MP high-res version of the image at 90% JPEG quality.
