the cn tower getting struck by lightning multiple times and actually being able to get shots of it on camera has been the highlight of my day

I had the opportunity to participate in something I really enjoy on January 8th and 9th at Big Boulder resort in the Poconos. The RedBull East Coast Team Challenge. Teams from all over were there to compete. The photography workshop was coordinated with Catherine Nieves who rounded up Tim Zimmerman and Dano Pendygrasse to assist with snowboard photography technique. Nikon provided D200 cameras along with 12-24mm and 18-200mm lenses for those lucky enough to have signed up in time to receive them. I missed out on the D200 but had plenty of fun with my D70.

Day 2 of 365 babe-a-rific photos!
Chloé and I went to a pharmacy today to pick up a few items. Upon inadvertently walking through the toy aisle on the way to checkout, the babe stopped behind me to marvel at everything. I just calmly told her she had enough stuff and to follow me to the line.
Well she didn’t exactly listen. She found something she wanted and brought it up where I was waiting. She hands me this little plastic princess figurine with matching pumpkin carriage, similar to the toys you get in Happy Meals.
Now why she decided to waste her time bringing this thing to the line is beyond me. Because she knows damn right well I’m not going to get her some random toy just out of the blue like that. But she gave it a whirl anyhow.
As I sent her back to the toy aisle after she lost a 5 second argument unsuccessfully coercing me to buy it, I couldn’t help but think how much longer she is going to still be interested in little plastic princesses.
One day we’re going to inadvertently walk down that same damn aisle and those plastic toys won’t matter to her any longer.
