Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park

**Photo of the Day, 22.05.2017 on Fstoppers.com**

fstoppers.com/photo/177598

My first shoot after my parental leave ! After some fashion style portrait stuff, we decided to use one of my above-the-head lightning setups at my roof to emphazise the superb bodies of

David and Alina. Both are prof. dancers and singers and I let them dance between my laundry ;-)

Models/Dancers: Alina W.& David M. H.

Shot with the Nikon D810 and a very old Nikkor AI-S 20mm 3.5 at f11, 1/80, ISO 64.

Hope u like my comeback here at flickr... (parental leave let me no time, except doing baby photography all the time ;-)

Sony A7R IV | Canon 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro (via Sigma Adapter) | f/8 | 1/250s | ISO 200 | Manual Exposure | Nikon SB900 Speedlight (on-camera, manual) | Raynox DCR-250 Extension

finally had the opportunity to go to the Kissimmee prairie national preserve yesterday to look for Phidippus jumpers, got lucky! and found more than just jumpers, quick stack MP-E@3.5x, 20 images using godox battery pack on my mt24ex for burst capture

Sam peeped me www.flickr.com/photos/denn-ice/ and David from fstoppers.com walking down the block with our cameras. He said make me famous, take a picture of me in front of my store. So we walked down the block and fired off a couple shots. I kept the tones cold to match his ice cold pose !

I took a slow walk across the Manhattan Bridge a couple weeks ago. It was around 3am I was by myself and I didn't encounter one person! It was quite peaceful actually...

There was a guy on Fstoppers.com awhile back who did very dramatic black and white urban landscapes.

They looked like they were taken at night, but the EXIF data showed they were taken mid-afternoon. Another tell - and what gave them a surreal quality - was that there no lights in the windows.

So they were a very well-executed, still-photo versions of, "Day For Night," or, as the French directors call it, "La Nuit Américaine" This is one of my attempts at the genre, although it was taken just before sunset.

What do you think?

ETA: (10/24/2016)

The biggest weakness of this attempt is that the photo isn't sharp - I must've shot it handheld. (Or turned off AF because it "hunting" in a prior shot and forgot to turn it back on. I'm ... kind of a space case, TBH)

A blast from last year. I saw an Fstoppers article on fixing the blue cast in snow and figured I would try it. Happy Sliders Sunday!

So Saturday night was pretty epic. I haven't done astro stuff in a LONG time, but the conditions worked out super well this past weekend. This is a pano consisting of 5 stitched 50mm shots. I've got some pretty cool stuff coming from spending all day/night/morning with the mountain! The flowers are just peaking/past peak so definitely head out there!

Here's an older shot that I never got around to processing from Falls Creek Falls. I think I put it off for so long because of how much of a pain it was to put together. Dappled light and waterfalls don't mix haha.

Here's a new one from a very memorable day at Second Beach, WA. I went with a monochrome approach to this one to really capture the contrast between light and dark.

I recently went up to Mt. Rainier this past weekend and I really decided to focus on the more intimate side of the mountain. The shooting conditions were challenging but I'm really happy with the images I was able to come away with! Hope you enjoy them.

A fellow named Bill (my next stranger in the 100 stranger's group) created this driftwood sculpture in the shape of a coyote.

It's made for the biggest, wackiest happy hour/bonfire to celebrate the end of the winter for people who've camped this beach for the winter.

To me it seemed this interesting piece of art would suit a night theme, especially since real life coyotes often become active at night.

I set out with my tripod and trusty, sharp 20 mm f1.8 Nikon lens.

75 photos later I was finally satisfied with this angle and settings. I stitched together three photos for this shot.

This is the remains of a nuclear Cooling Stack at Phipps Bend Tennessee. A few miles hike or bike will take you right inside this amazing structure. Abandoned for over 40+ years trees are now growing in the center.
