We've all seen this countless times, but frankly, I've never seen it like this. Ice Fog on Niagara River?! How rare!

A finger literally froze during the taking of this. I had to thaw it out. Thankfully it wasnt frostbitten.

inspired by this very cold morning at the bus stop.

Frostbite - Abiqua Falls, Oregon - Aaron Reed Photography

It got kind of cold on this particular week so I got sideways down the road to Abiqua to check out the hotsprings. The ice in the foreground here was some of the most treacherous I have personally ever attempted to walk on. Those icy molar shaped ice mounds were about a foot across each and extremely beautiful. I tried to capture that beauty here but really...you should have been there. — with Andrew Curtis at Abiqua Falls.

A frigid and windy morning hike up to this frozen lake in Colorado. The wind was gusting 30mph. I was happy to have explored this area and come away with this focus stacked image of the ice crystals near the lake as the morning light hit the beautiful jagged peaks.

The first real frost of the season. Now it can snow, so we get a white Christmas!

As weird as it may sound it is freezing in Florida. Like I bought a winter coat. I've never had to buy a winter coat in all my life. I got a job at the school I use to go to helping out with the K-4 kids for 2-3 hours everyday. I'm really excited because I'm going to school for Early Childhood Education.

I wanted to make this picture really bright in order to give it that freezing chilly feel. :)

The engineering department has been busy in Penguin Land. "Frostbite" is the standard military code for the new Armor unit in the Penguin's arsenal. The dark blue and grey camo scheme is perfect for blending into the surroundings and surprising the natives on F continent. Nemo Nanyi མེ་མོ་ ན་ ཉི་ (Gurla Mandhata) 7728m (25354ft)

Nemo Nanyi མེ་མོ་ ན་ ཉི་ (Gurla Mandhata) 7728m (25354ft). It is the 34th highest peak in the world (using a 500 metre prominence cutoff). It is also notable for being well within the Tibetan Plateau (most peaks of similar height - except notably Shishapangma, the world's 14th highest peak - lie nearer to or outside the edge of the Plateau) and relatively far away from other peaks of height greater than 7500 metres. It sits roughly across Lake Manasarowar from the sacred peak of Mount Kailash. The Tibetan name, Naimona'nyi, is said to come from naimo = "herbal medicine", na = "black", nyi = "heaped-up slabs", giving "the mountain of heaped-up slabs of black herbal medicine." In 1905 T. G. Longstaff, accompanied by two alpine guides and six porters, made an attempt on Gurla Mandhata. They turned back at around 7,000 m (23,000 ft) after being caught in an avalanche and encountering other difficulties.[1] This was a strong achievement for the time, especially for such a small group; at that time no summit of over 7,000 m had yet been climbed and Longstaff's height represented a world altitude record. The first ascent of the peak was by a joint Japanese/Chinese team led by Katsutoshi Hirabayashi, via the north side of the peak, in May 1985. Since that time, there have been six additional successful ascents and two failed attempts on the peak. In 1997, an attempt was made to ascend the peak via the then-unclimbed North Face route by Quinn Simons, Soren Peters, and their guide, Charlie Fowler. The team made a valiant effort, climbing high on the mountain, but after severe storms and other difficulties had to retreat. Their descent ended in a fall of some 450 m (1,500 ft) down the North Face of the peak. Fowler was slightly injured, while Simons and Peters both suffered extreme frostbite on their extremities. The standard ascent route climbs the western flanks of the mountain ascending the Chaglung'mlungha Glacier to the summit plateau. Most teams choose to approach the mountain over land by jeep from either Lhasa, Tibet, or Kathmandu, Nepal. However, an alternate approach begins in the mountain hamlet of Simikot, Nepal, in the remote Humla district of west Nepal and follows the Karnali River northward, crossing into Tibet in the village of Sher. Jeeps then take climbers north through Taklakot (Burang) to basecamp on the mountain. The first official American ascent of the mountain was made on September 28, 2006 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gurla_Mandhata

Another day standing in line at school with frostbitten toes. Today's lesson was all about Disney and I secretly filmed it to show you all the horrors we have to endure at St Columba Catholic school youtu.be/o2sU4FzznVA

Now I'm off to see Motörhead! :)

I won't be online for two days or so.

Please, ignore the left eye. Is really sharper and better big, but flickr has this weird thing about sharpening..

Another picture I took over winter break with my gorgeous friend Annie!! I am finally getting to the rest of the images I have not yet edited. Apparently it is below freezing back in Indiana, so I picked a good semester to study abroad in Rome!

While all the normal people were sitting inside their houses drinking hot chocolate, having hot baths and absorbing the warmth of their fireplace, I was outside in the freezing cold getting rained on. On top of that, I didn't wear shoes. Word.

A thousand years it felt that he was stuck in the icy water of the abyss. Only time would tell how long this hell, that bound him, would last.

I went down to LA today and explored the art museum with Diggie. It was awesome getting to see a lot of the art that I am studying up close. Afterwards, he got in some freezing water for this photo, which I am truly grateful for! It turned out almost exactly as I had planned.
