Lately I've been winning battles left and right
But even winners can get wounded in the fight
People say that I'm amazing
I'm strong beyond my years
But they don't see inside of me
I'm hiding all the tears
They don't know that I come running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
'Cause deep inside this armor
The warrior is a child

The new brighton sea defences late on sunday night.
Built during the1930's, these structures were put in place to protect the town from flooding at high tide. They have stood strong ever since.
For the second day's bimble into Wales last week I gambled on a location not usually suitable year-round when sunny (due to the nature of the hillside which faces South) - just incase Lakenheath sent some jets through the Lichfield corridor early doors to LFA7.
Thankfully it all paid off with a busy half hour of frontliner trade & some stunning low flying.

I started taking low level shots in back in 2003, when “The Greek” Dimitris, persuaded me to come to Wales and give it a go, he had recently moved from Stockport, near Manchester to Anglesey, the VAS lads had taken him to the loop and he was hooked. I spent a lot of time in the loop in 2004 and the beginning of 2005, although I was having pretty busy days, with 50 movements being quite common, I wasn’t doing great with frontliners. I was taken for my first trip to Thirlmere by Scott Rathbone for Mad Monday in August 2005, the Scottish Bank Holiday that had provided 24 fronliner passes in 2003 and 12 in 2004, hence it was given that moniker on Warplane, still used today by the Lakes lads. Needless to say 2005 was a very different matter, as we drove away just after lunch we were car parked by a dambusters GR4, but that was pretty much it frontliner wise for the day in that valley, we moved to the M6 mast for the afternoon, ended up with the same 617 GR4 later on after a lunch stop at Leeming, and a late pair of Tremblers F-3’s that saved the day, anyway, I digress.
Myself, Scott and Baz did Thirlmere on the 12th Sept 2005, a real mixed bag of a day, We climbed up in the cloud, it was due to clear around lunchtime but it cleared around 9am, meaning we would be shooting into the sun early doors, bugger, we had a pair of F-15E’s early doors, one very high, a pair of 11 Sqdn F-3’s also came early, again backlit, double bugger, mixed in with a couple of early Hawks and Tucano’s, we got three lunchtime Marham GR.4’s, all heading for the Spadeadam range, Monster callsigns for at least two of them, the first jet took a very unusual line, pulling out as he passed us, with the light right down the tail as he started to turn to the left to pull out of the Valley, he caught the light off the reservoir down the side of the jet, a GR.4 down in the weeds, in its natural environment, low and fast. This is still probably my favourite low level set of shots to date, this is the third shot of that sequence I posted on Flickr, the other being the one before and after this image. Taken with the 20D and the 100-400, so hardly the ideal combination, bit of a crop and not as sharp as it once looked, compared with modern DSLR’s anyway. Oh the day ended with more Hawks and Tucano’s, plus a pair of Belgian F-16’s that were high and over the far side of the Valley, so all my shots were awful, plus a lovely lit Dominie to end the day, it used to be so much busier, with more variety back in those days.

A few weeks ago I got this cool gift from 公主樂糕殿 Princess Land and wanted to build a little something out of lego to thank them for this.
I looked on the internet to find inspiration and found out that Taiwan have some really nice metro stations.
This is a reproduction of a small part of Central Park MSR Station in Tapei - Taiwan.
Thank you to all the frontliners for all you did and for all you are still doing to help us out of this pandemic :)
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus.
The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell.
How it spreads
Coronavirus disease spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze. It also spreads when a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth.
EVERYONE PLEASE PLAY YOUR ROLE, EVERYONE IS A FIGHTER!
The only pass we had on the day. Thankfully it was a frontliner. Thanks to Ken for the ride down & company.

It's a fair while since I was last at the Mach Loop, or managed to photograph low level flying anywhere for that matter... In happier times, RAF Panavia Tornado GR.4 ZA369/003 speeds towards Cad West.

The Days We Wear Masks 20210131
More recognition and protection should be given to nearly 400,000 migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong, especially to those suffering from heavy workload and unfair treatment during the pandemic.
“Migrant workers are frontliners (who fight against the pandemic) as well. We are the ones who look after the cleanliness (hygiene) of the house, going in and out of the house to get food and protective materials for families,” says Shiela Tebia-Bonifacio, chairperson of Gabriela Hong Kong, an alliance supporting Filipinos in the city.
“Many of us cannot go out and some are not compensated well for overtime work. If you don’t have your own room, what can you do inside the house? You work. Do you expect migrant workers to sit down with their boss on the sofa on Sunday?” Tebia-Bonifacio says. “Before COVID-19, migrant workers are already complaining, some are working 16-20 hours a day, staying up till 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. Now it’s worse,” Tebia-Bonifacio adds.
These frontliners in the city’s battle against the pandemic not only need to bear heavier workload and hardship at work amid the pandemic, some are forced to live with their employers when they are tested positive for COVID-19 or had close contacts with the infected. (varsity.com.cuhk.edu.hk)

This is my working progress on Malaysian's firefighters. As you can see, I've finally done painting all three of them, but more will come. Stay tuned! During these pandemic, they're one of the frontliners that helped to prevent the contagion of covid-19 across the country. Thank you so much for your service!
