Looks like somebody has been sitting on the one on the left. When built, this was the finest hotel west of the Mississippi. This place is said to be haunted. Love that safe.
Waiting to go up to the restaurant. The Lobby of 71 Above. Not sure why. But Thought of 2001 the movie. Just had a clean futuristic feel.

A lovely stay in a location that honors First Responders. No, it’s not a 5 star lodge, but it’s nice with kind, proactive, and attentive employees working in a clean and well unkept environment.
I would go to this school campus every now and then to visit some clients. The lady guard/reception at the front desk is always a potential stranger for me. But timing is crucial. There shouldn't be any visitors behind me, and the lady guard shouldn't be preoccupied with an urgent task.
I met Lorena at a good time. All conditions checked in. So I was able to take her picture. Unfortunately though, I only had my cellphone. But in this case, it will have to do. I got to take several pictures and settled with this one were she had a subtle smile. She has been assigned to this posting just a few months ago. She said she likes her job, saying her "bosses are good and the visitors are friendly." We parted ways and exchanged Facebook accounts.
Good luck with the job Lorena. See you one of these days...

Hey guys! Just playing around with interior design - This one's a hotel lobby / front desk. Simple!
What do you guys think?
“Rockwell intended this painting to be a tribute to his own eighth-grade teacher who had encouraged him to draw. Gathering a local model and students, Rockwell used a real grammar school classroom in Stockbridge as his reference.” – Norman Rockwell Museum
Love the kid sitting up straight and balancing books on his head :-)
Between the switchboard and the cash register, this is one of my favorite rooms in Bodie. My grandmother started a telephone answering service over 50 years ago, and up until about 5 years ago, they were using switchboards that look very similar to the one here. They have since updated to a state-of-the-art computerized system, but it was not long ago that switchboards like this were in everyday use.
