Macro Monday - "From the top"
This is looking down into a small, empty liqueur glass with the focus on the rim only. The glass is about 6 inches tall and 2 inches across, there's a side-on view (different background and lighting) in comments for context.

Its a language of its own.
By the way, she's a fantastic portrait photographer herself!

And this shall be my last upload before I turn to street photos from tomorrow.
An espresso, wizzing now as I had to drink it rather than waste it, not my favourite, made me shudder!
NYC, Lower Manhattan - One World Trade Center
.

First skyscraper I ever climbed in Manhattan.
Looking out from there gave me some shivers and a slight discomfort in my stomach and it has not happened with the other skyscrapers. Maybe the first is always the first..
Too bad there are terraces from which to admire the view. Looking beyond glass is still exciting, but the photos unfortunately suffer a lot.
The view of Manhattan is unique: from the tip of the peninsula you have the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty. Then we turn back, towards the rest of the city, and all that remains to see is in front of us, as far as the eye can see but enclosed in that incredible piece of land surrounded by water.
This is for the Macro Monday Group. It shows the top of my climbing shoes. With this shot I could go for several themes. If I had to, I would choose "This, I love", because I love this hobby.
HMM
I found out about this location through in-depth searching online, and found a step-by-step directions from Canon Hongkong's website. I thought it would be an easy hike to this location, so imagine my disappointment when the gates to this location was locked by the authorities.
Thankfully, I saw a gentlemen coming out from the woods beside the locked gate and asked him, in my broken Chinese, if I could trek through the woods to the peak. He say I could just follow the beaten path. A pair of students heading in the same direction seems to confirm the direction.
I followed them, and after some wrong turns, we finally reached the peak, which were already pretty crowded with at least 10 fellow photographers. There is no standard viewing gallery or sort, just larger-than-usual rocks for photographers to utilise it for the best composition.
For all the worth (including a split pants), it was truly breathtaking to be up there, getting beaten by the howling winds and enjoying the sunset in a clean environment with fellow photographers.
This was, if i may say, the highlight and best moment of my Hongkong trip.

This is my favourite work.
But time is eating it, colours are fading away.
I had to save it.
So everything will be fine.
