Our snack-break from above, about half way up, hiking with friends up to the Rax plateau.

It was a nice hike up the Schneeberg, the highest peak in Lower Austria. The day was crisp with extremely strong westerly winds (75km/h+) so all attempts to fly the drone at the summit failed. By the time I came down the wind hat abated a bit so I was able to capture this panorama just as the sun was setting.

I hope you're having a great week! I must admit, this fog season hasn't been as impressive as before, and I find myself missing it. Hopefully, we'll still have a chance to experience some captivating fog this year. What are your thoughts on it?

The Türkenstürz (Stürtz=Fall) is a steep rock-face - the name dates back to the Turkish Wars around 1530 - legends are associated with it where the invading Turkish troops were driven or fell of the precipice to their death below. The folly was built by Prince Johann | in 1824 to commemorate the victory against the Turks.
