My Wife’s friends keep making me look bad by delivering flowers to her every few days. That’s the downside… the upside, of course, is I have something to photograph without venturing out into the SoCal traffic madness ;-)
Tulips:
Tulips are spring blooming perennial herbaceous bulbiferous geophytes in the Tulipa genus. Their flowers are usually large, showy, and brightly colored, generally red, orange, pink, yellow, or white.
Growing wild over much of the Near East and Central Asia, tulips have been cultivated in Persia from the 10th century. By the 15th century, tulips were among the most prized flowers, becoming the symbol of the Ottomans.
Tulips were cultivated in Constantinople as early as 1055 but they did not come to the attention of Northern Europeans until the sixteenth century, when Northern European diplomats to the Ottoman court observed and reported on them. They were rapidly introduced into Northern Europe and became a much-sought-after commodity during tulip mania.
Tulips were frequently depicted in Dutch Golden Age paintings, and have become associated with the Netherlands, the major producer for world markets.

Feliz martes.
Uploaded for Macro Monday's "Glaze" theme, added to 7DWF, Crazy Tuesday Theme "Three".
A frustrating theme. What I tried to do didn't work, what worked wasn't exactly "glazed", but just glass. I'm uploading this quick shot just as not to skip this Monday. I know that it isn't a particularly good photo, but here it is. These three guys remind me of Flickr, in a way. We are all so different, like the three in this shot, their beaks have different colours, their shapes are different... we are all from different countries, speak different languages, have different cultures, religions, traditions. Yet, here on Flickr, we all get on so well with each other. So at least this capture has a meaning ;-)
Thank you for your kind comments, I appreciate every single one, and your faves! Vielen Dank für Eure tollen Kommentare und Faves!
A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!

I passed these people from the other side. I liked the light and the grouping of three, but wanted to capture their faces and shadows so I circled around to this vantage point and took this photo. I think the circling around (and the big camera) caught the guy’s attention, but he seemed happy enough.
