Another view of the kitchen in an abandoned farmhouse in Indiana. My grandmother had this same refrigerator. It evokes a lot of emotion in me.
I hated that you couldn't stick magnets to a SubZero fridge, and then I figured out that tape worked. Among the images are random postcards and stickers, Barack Obama, Christopher Walken, the Twin Towers, the Batmobile, Hillary Swank, Nicole Kidman, Mischa Barton, Paul Toback's son, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Audrey Tautou, Jimmy Carter, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lindsay Lohan, the late Rick James, Jessica Simpson, Sophia Copolla, my neices Katie and Sarah, the Wilson sisters from Heart, the late John Lennon, Bjork, and George W. Bush.
Yeah I know you are saying hey Don down to photographing your fridge? Well the weather is foul and roads covered with slush and ice. But anyway I think I have a very interesting fridge picking these magnets from many years of travel with wife and family. But fear not I'm pouring over trail and Goggle maps planning trips for when the weather turns fair again.
Fridge Magnet for Macro Monday's RED what a wonderfully colourful site it is this week, HMM everyone.
My daughter bought a box of magnetic words for making up Shakespearean insults. These are my two faves.
Yeah, The Beatles Fridge Magnets.. again... this time, I opened the back door to get some natural light in, without any of the reflections that artificial light can bring...

Picked up this lettuce today which is sold with its roots intact, allowing it to be stored in water in the fridge, couldn't be fresher.

This is the not very neat top shelf of my fridge. There is a bowl of roasted green chiles, a jar of pasta sauce, a hunk of cheese, some breakfast sausage patties, a jar of pick;es, a bag of cheese sticks, and some packages of prosciutto. I guess that's a somewhat ecclectic assortment of things.
The van on the right is my stepson's rolling home All accessories -- fridge, TV, lights, computer, etc are solar powered.
Whenever there is a disaster bottles of wine and beer, kegs of ale and beer fridges always manage to survive
The fridge bandit strikes when no one is looking... He usually steels all the ice cream from my freezer. I know this since the box is always empty and no one knows why...

Fridge magnets from Yubu Island, Japan.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
My wife loves to collect fridge magnets and this is just some of her collection. They of course cover the many places here in Australia and overseas we have visited on our annual holidays over many years that have meant so much to us since we were married. Those of you who know me will understand by the delight I take photographing our time away and uploading it to flickr. And we all love our holidays, don't we?
The years we missed through sickness serve to underline the importance and joy we get on our holidays and indeed the times we spent with our daughter before she grew up and became independent.
We would normally have made reservations by now but a string of medical issues and you could say developing fears about what seemed to be unfolding in our world had me holding back.
Sadly, owing to geopolitical and economic circumstances about which you will all have read and feared and predictions of a rout on the Australian Stock Exchange tomorrow, there is significant risk to our retirement savings and indeed the superannuation and investments of most people in Australia and also around the world. The risk of a global recession has been increased to 60+%, probably worse than when COVID rolled out. So sadly, out of an abundance of caution, our plans for holidays and some new magnets this year have been cancelled at least for now. In the meantime, we will just roll with the punches like everyone else. What can I say? Comments disabled I hope. Best wishes everyone, the ride ahead may be rough and dirty.
