To me, the world outside looks the same but I know its a photograph that doesn't tell the entire story. I wonder if the cats know. I believe they do, just look inside their eyes and they are talking to you.

I'm Still The Bad Guy 😂

Happy Friday the 13th!!! (13 is my lucky number so it's a good juju day for me!)😁😜😈👹💪

"Where I am going you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow afterward." ~ John 13:21-38

MEDITATION

“Are you ready to follow Jesus in His way of the cross?

PRAYER

"Give me, O Lord, a steadfast heart which no unworthy thought can drag downwards; an unconquered heart which no tribulation can wear out; an upright heart which no unworthy purpose may tempt aside. Bestow upon me also, O Lord my God, Understanding to know You, Diligence to seek You, Wisdom to find You, and a Faithfulness that may finally embrace You; through Jesus Christ, our Lord." (Prayer of Thomas Aquinas) ~ www.dailyscripture.net

PRAYER

"Lord Jesus Christ, I place all my hope in You because You have redeemed the world by Your death on the cross and by Your victory over the grave. Help me to never lose sight of the goal of heaven that I may live each day in joyful anticipation of Your return in glory."

About the Arms for this statue... ~ "The armless crucifix over the altar dates from the 1700s and was carved in Italy and brought to the San Diego Mission in the 1930s by the then parish priest. The lack of arms has no significance other than showing the ill effects of time. The priest at the time was going to have new arms made for the statue but was talked into leaving it as is by a nun who said, 'let the parish be the arms of Christ, as it is the parish that does the work of Jesus.'”

#Art image for today’s 1st reading from Isaiah 58:1-9

“Why do we fast?” (Isaiah 58:3)

MEDITATION

“…Our fasting is not meant to change God. He never changes anyway! Rather, it’s meant to CHANGE US. And it does that by helping us experience a small measure of Jesus’ suffering. If we undertake a fast—or any other kind of self-denial—with the intention of DRAWING CLOSER TO THE LORD, we’ll come to a deeper appreciation of what He endured on the #cross for our sake. We’ll see that, just as we can break our #fast any time we want, Jesus could have ended His suffering at any point. But He didn’t. He loved us too much to throw in the towel. He was too committed to saving us from sin.

“In today’s Gospel, Jesus Himself associates fasting with His coming death. He points to a time when He, the Bridegroom, will be “taken away from” the people around Him (Matthew 9:14-15). When that happens, He says, His followers will feel moved to fast. They will see the toll that their sin and the sins of the world took on Him, and they will be moved to fasting and repentance in response. They will try to imitate Him by their own self-denial so that they can travel the same road that He traveled—and experience His presence as they do.

“As you take up the call to #fasting this Lent, fix your eyes on #Jesus, the crucified Bridegroom. Tell Him that you want your acts of self-denial to make you more like Him.”

PRAYER

“Jesus, help me to follow you to the cross!”
