Elly and I have been meeting for coffee on Thursday mornings for the past couple of months, slowly cycling through (er, and cycling to) all the good spots in inner N/NE POrtland. It dawned on me (ack! so many puns!) that it'd be nice to catalog our experiences. So without further ado, here's what we did this morning.
Fresh Pot

Elly: Pot of PG Tips tea. Bagel with cream cheese.
Me: Double tiny cappuccino. Bagel with double cream cheese. Pot of China Breakfast tea. Ginger cookie slathered with remaining cream cheese.
Stats:
Coffee supplier: Stumptown
Tea? Yes, Rishi, loose, and PG tips in bags
Tea brewing method: Excellent. Loose, in little pots with removable strainer (except PG Tips which is in bags, but they still serve it in a little pot).
Food: Pastries, cookies, bagels, and occasionally donuts, all from outside suppliers.
Overview: The Fresh Pot is a great little coffee shop in the Mississippi neighborhood. They make really good coffee (including my favorite, the tiny 5oz traditional free-pour cappuccino) and has a good selection of teas, properly brewed loose-leaf in little pots. As is the case with many of my favorite coffee shops, their food leaves something to be desired. The pastries and cookies are good, but if you want something un-sweet, your only option is a bready bagel. On the good side, they don't use packaged cream cheese but rather serve you a little ramekin of whipped cream cheese, which is nice.
