I have no idea what's up with me but I can't seem to get a shot in focus lately. Gah. Maybe it's art imitating life? ;p Mine is crazy these days, and I feel I can't focus on anything, there's so much going on. My Dad is being operated on hopefully tomorrow, so any good thoughts you can throw our way are much appreciated. :)
Two of my favourite things, roses & strawberries! Fresh picked strawberries & a gorgeous rose from my garden!
Nothing like fresh-picked Roma tomatoes to get a homemade pasta sauce going. We’ve got so many tomoatoes this year, I’m having them daily with lunch and supper.

Yesterday, I was out in the orchard and I picked 4 cups of these rather unusual sweet-tart cherries. I made Nanking Cherry Gelato. These are the juiciest cherries I've ever eaten.

this afternoon i'm going to discuss a possible job doing some food photography/social marketing stuff at a local restaurant. i searched my archives trying to put together a folder of images to demonstrate my food photography "skills," but mostly found that as far as food goes, i'm taking more photos of raw and unprepared foods (see above) than i am of prepared dishes in restaurants (and when i do try to do that, the light is usually low and i don't do a great job). anyway, i put the collection over on my blog if you're interested
October 1, 2020
A bright neon-red garden pepper, picked back on the 24th of October. There are a bunch more green ones on the plants, that just won't ripen. The storm comes in tomorrow night. I'll probably pick them before that happens.

:Baby I’ll be your Huckleberry, you don’t have to double dare me
If the ride gets wild and scary count on me to be right there
You’re so extra ordinary sweet like maraschino cherries
We’ll grow up and we’ll get married

"Pitcher of Lilacs" by Patti Deters.
A fresh-picked bunch of lilacs, placed in a white pitcher vase, sits on display on a tree stump in this pretty still life with a rural or country vibe. Lilacs are long-lived plants that can grow in bushes over 15 feet tall and smell amazing in the spring when they boom. Multiple soft and romantic textures with a cool blue tone have been applied for artistic effect. There is another version of this image with a warm gold-tone background a the link below. Please enjoy more of my floral, flowers, and other textured nature-themed artworks at patti-deters.pixels.com/featured/pitcher-of-lilacs-blue-b....

The baby veggies are starting to appear.
These are soooo good
Just pop one in and taste the sweetness
There was a hidden surprise on this shot
He just blended in perfectly
Didn't even notice him until I started editing
Can you find him?

These heirloom tomatoes, called "Pink Furry Boar", are some of the prettiest I have ever grown! They are actually slightly fuzzy, like peaches. Wild Boar Farms has some of the coolest tomato varieties around!
